Tidie Odell "Tida" Poff died on November 8, 2005 at Virginia at age 94.4 She Tidie Poff Mills, 94, of Roanoke, went to be with her LORD Tuesday, November 8, 2005. Mrs. Mills was born in Floyd County on May 17, 1911, a daughter of the late Riley and Lucy Mills Poff. She married Otho O. Mills, he preceded her in death on August 27, 1965. Mrs. Mills was a lifelong homemaker and was widely known for her strawberries, she loved to sew and made clothing for her children as they were growing and was known for her beautiful quilts. She was a member of the Haran Baptist Church. Mrs. Mills leaves two loving children to cherish her memories, Anna Lee Whaley and her husband, John "Buddy" of Moneta, and John Mills and his wife, Helen of Blue Ridge; nine grandchildren; ten greatgrandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Also surviving are her brothers-in-law, Wilford "Wick" Mills and his wife, Esther of Salem, Clinton Mills and his wife, Marie of Roanoke; sisters-in-law, Myrtle Poff and Edna Poff, and Ruth Green, all of Roanoke, Audrey Mills of Vinton, Frances Mills of Salem and Irthel and husband, Lewis Simpson of Bristol, Tenn. A service celebrating Mrs. Mills life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, November 11, 2005 at the Roanoke Chapel of Lotz Funeral Home officiated by the Rev. Jeff Gardner. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday, November 10, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to either the American Cancer Society or Epworth United Methodist Church in Moneta, Va. Lotz Roanoke Chapel, 1001 Franklin Road S.W., 982-1001. on November 9, 2005.4
