     James Lee "Jimmie" Manning James Lee Manning (Jimmie) 81 of Roanoke, VA passed away on Wednesday 29, 2021. He was born on July 14, 1940. After graduating Check High School in 1959 he served his country in the Army Reserve. One of Jim’s passions was his love for vehicles (trucks, cars, boats, campers, etc.) How could you not wonder then, why he would go to work for several different trucking companies as a sales representative, after which he started his own trucking business in 1982. He retired in 2009. Jim dearly loved his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Ellen Ryan Wimmer; two sons, Matthew McKinley Wimmer and wife Tonya of Crozet, Virginia and Benjamin Thomas Wimmer and wife Natalie of Blacksburg; two sisters, Beverly Boothe and husband David of Vinton, and Joan Nicholas and husband Harvey of Bent Mountain, Roanoke; two grandchildren, Aubrey Wimmer and Colin Wimmer; and two special nephews, Michael Nichols and Patrick Nichols. In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated. Honorary pallbearers will be Allen Vest, David Boothe, Michael Nichols, Patrick Nichols, Darrell Gleason, Dale Anderson, Scott Peters, and Gerald Kaney. on November 7, 2023.5

     Ashley Brent Wimmer Ashley Brent Wimmer passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at the age of 67, surrounded by loved ones who will strive to honor his memory. Ashley was the son of the late James "Dink" Wimmer and Freeda Wimmer. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Anita Wimmer; devoted daughter Elisha (David) Donahue; cherished grandchildren, Aysha Alton, Amaya Alton, Lillian Donahue, and David "Brent" Donahue; his adoring sisters, Charlotte (James) Austin, Susan (Steve) Smith, Annette (Lynn) Mills, Connie (Steve) See, and Michele Wimmer; his brother, Ronald (Kathy) Wimmer; special friend, Betsy Draper; Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Mac and Priscilla Whitlock; Sister-in-laws, Donna Slusher and Shari Whitlock; many special nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a host of long-time friends. Ashley grew up in Floyd, Virginia, a town he and his wife loved and just recently moved back to. He was a Navy veteran and a truck driver for over 27 years. His passions were family and friends, music, cars, and living life to the fullest. His dearest friends were found through his music, which started at a young age through the influence of his musical family. As a musician, he played with numerous local bands, including Mountain Fever Band, ETA, Fatz, Rebel Guns, and Jade. He also achieved his dream of becoming a race car driver at many local tracks. After graduating from Virginia Tech with a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Anita began her career as a Certified Public Accountant at Deloitte and Touche in Roanoke, Va. In 1993, she began working at Stanley Furniture in Martinsville, Va., progressing in various roles until her retirement, as Vice President of Finance after 25 years of service. After her retirement until she passed, she maintained a position of Controller at Rockwood Specialties, LLC. Anita enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and going to her husband's band performances. Family and friends remember her as being loving, caring, free-minded, and educated person to be around. She could light up any room with her laughter and enjoyment. She spent her retirement years with Ashley building their forever home in Floyd, Va., to be closer to family and friends. on November 9, 2022.5
