Nedra Juanita Morris1,2,3

F, b. December 1, 1929, d. March 4, 2019
Nedra Juanita Morris Nedra Juanita Morris Prillaman, affectionately known to all as Nedra, age 89, of Chesapeake, passed away on March 4, 2019 in Virginia Beach. Nedra was born in Roanoke, VA to Tommy and Nelly Morris on December 1, 1929. She married Calvin Prillaman on July 7, 1951 at the age of 22 in Roanoke, VA. They spent 56 years together as loving husband and wife living in Roanoke, Florida, and South Carolina before settling in Chesapeake, VA. She was a loving wife to her husband Calvin, who served in the United States Navy and later became a Civil Service employee retiring with over 30 years of service. Nedra also had a career connected to the military when she became a Civil Service employee who retired in 1989 as Administrative Assistant to the Admiral overseeing the Norfolk Naval Dental Clinic. After 9 years of marriage, in 1960, she became mother to Cyndie and within a few short years to follow to another daughter Vickie born in 1963. She was a loving mother who made her home and family a priority as she helped to provide for them outside of the home. She lovingly spent her days raising and nurturing them in the loving home that she and Calvin had created. She was very proud of both of her girls and became mom to many extended children as well. She had a kind and inviting spirit that made her special to all that knew her. As time passed and her children became adults, she filled her days of retirement caring for her grandchildren. She loved each one them and each moment that she was able to share with them as they continued to enrich her life. Nedra also made the difficult decision to move back to Roanoke to assist Calvin with the care of his aging parents and brother. She was a woman who was known to be full of life and the Spirit of the Lord. Her light shone brightly amongst all around her. She was a child of God who loved her Heavenly Father always displaying his Grace and sharing His Gospel. She was an inspiration to many who came to know the Lord through her example and shining light. Nedra is preceded in death by her husband Louis Calvin, her father Thomas, and her mother, Nellie. Nedra is survived by her daughters, Cyndie and husband Will Paynter, and Vickie and husband Duane Ward; her loving grandchildren April Hitchcock, Adam Jones, Christopher Jones, Eric Ward, and Kyle Ward; and her nine great-grandchildren. She also is survived by many dear family and wonderful friends. The family of Nedra wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Light House Point, Cedar Manor and Sheila’s Place for their dedication, professionalism and compassion for their mother and her wellbeing while being in their care. The family also extends many thanks to the Visitation Ministry of Indian River Baptist Church, and friends for their many prayers, cards, calls and visits over the years. A graveside service will be held in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Roanoke, VA.3 She was buried at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, 5070 Cove Road N. W., Roanoke, Virginia.3,4 She was born on December 1, 1929 at Roanoke, Virginia.5,2,4,3 She married Louis Calvin Prillaman, son of Louis Clinton Prillaman and Hazel Obera King, on July 7, 1951 at Roanoke, Virginia.1,5,3 As of July 7, 1951,her married name was Prillaman.5 Nedra Juanita Morris died on March 4, 2019 at Virginia Beach, Virginia, at age 89.4,3

Susan Rachel" Kefauver1,2,3,4

Susan Rachel" Kefauver was buried at Grayson Cemetery, Grayson, Clinton Co., Missouri.5,6 She was born on June 5, 1854 at Virginia; He obituary has a birth year of 1853.5,6,7 She married William Riley Poff, son of James Isaac Poff and Mary Ann "Polly" Gray, on December 16, 1869 at Floyd Co., Virginia.2,3,7 As of December 16, 1869,her married name was Poff. Susan Rachel" Kefauver died on February 19, 1909 at Clinton Co., Missouri, at age 54.6,7 She Susan R. Poff departed this life February 19, 1909. She was born June 4, 1853, and lived 56 years and 7 months, when she was called to her spirit home. We can truly say she was a noble Christian loved by all her neighbors and friends. She was ready and willing to go at God call, and we think she bad truly finished her life work and was ready for her departure. We think God will say, Well done good and faithful servant enter thou into the joy of the Lord. She was married to Riley Poff, December 16, 1869, in the state of Virginia and came to Missouri in 1871 and had lived here up to her death where she had gained a host of friends. To this union was born five children four living and one gone on before to meet his mother on the throne of God. She had been suffering for thirteen years with that dreadful disease, diabetis. We shall miss her loving step at eventide, and miss her gentle voice given in admonition of the danger which might befall our youthful hearts. But she has gone and we are sad, but God who knoweth best hath taken her to that better land of which she often spoke, and where we may meet her in God's own blessed time. We extend our heartfelt sympathy to the husband and children. A precious one from us has gone, A voice we love is still; A place is vacant in our home, Which never can be filled. on March 26, 1909.7
