Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon in the Christian church by the pastor, Rev. William Baier. He was assisted by Rev. J. E. Marriott, who preached the sermon. Her private duty nursing was in Richmond, Va., Chicago, Ill., and Greeneville. While in Chicago, many of her cases were with Dr. Clark Huggins, who won a Nobel Prize for extensive research in prostate cancer. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her parents: Cecil B. and Anna Brown Butler; her first husband of 53 years: William Bruffie Connor; her second husband of eight years: William Doak Ramsey; her daughter: Elizabeth Jane Connor; and two brothers: Minnis C. Butler and James A. Butler. She is survived by a stepdaughter and her husband: Ella and Gary Durr of Mansfield, Texas; and special friends: Dr. Walter “Skip” Mason and Carolyn Isaacs. She wrote: “Many thanks to my special daughter; even though she was a step, she was my love as well as her husband, Ella Joyce Ramsey Durr and Gary Durr.” There will be no visitation or service at this time. A private memorial service will be at a later date. on March 14, 2017.3
