     John Lewis Nafzinger John Lewis Nafzinger, 93 of Crumpton, MD, died February 9, 2018 in Cater to You Assisted Living, Chestertown, MD. He was born September 8, 1924 in Baltimore County, MD to the late Lewis and Lois Nafzinger. John was raised on a farm, milking cows and selling produce. In 1945 he married Shirley Poff, they purchased a farm in Burrsville, MD and started a family. They sold the farm and bought another in St. Augustine near Chesapeake City. While operating this farm he became an Allis Chalmers Tractor Dealer. He bought ground in Cecilton and built LJC Farm Store (partners with his dad, Lewis and brother Clyde), which he later became the sole owner. He retired at 55 years and he and his wife lived in Venice, FL and Crumpton until Shirley passed away in 1998. He later married Sandra Rhodes. He was a charter member of Crumpton Fire Company, member of Crumpton United Methodist Church and the Mens Prayer Group. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Shirley Poff Nafzinger. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Sandra White Rhodes Nafzinger, his children, James L. Nafzinger (Sue) of Cecilton, MD, Barbara N. Clark (Jack) of Barclay, MD, Robert J. Nafzinger (Tammy) of Livermore, CA and Betty E. Barlow of Millington, MD; step-children, Doug Rhodes (Debbie) of Hammett, ID, Greg Rhodes (Cyd) of Bend, OR, Althea Stubbs (Jim) of Millington and Bobby Rhodes (Evelyn) of Millington; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and his brothers, Moses Nafzinger of Michigan and Clyde Nafzinger of Wilmington, DE. Burial will follow in Crumpton Cemetery.2 He was buried at Crumpton Cemetery, 1020 Dudley Corners Road, Crumpton, Queen Anne's Co., Maryland.2 He was born on September 8, 1924 at Long Green, Baltimore Co., Maryland.3,2 He married Shirley Jean Poff, daughter of Raleigh Clifton Poff and Melissa Ellen "Lizzie" Reed, on December 23, 1944 at Long Green, Baltimore Co., Maryland.3,1,2 John Lewis Nafzinger died on February 9, 2018 at Chestertown, Queen Anne's Co., Maryland, at age 93.2
