Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be W. L. Shockey, Johnny Martin, Ervin Smith, Floyd Addison and Garvis Walker. Honorary pallbearers: W. L. Warden, A. B. Bailey, R. J. Robert, Claude Godsey, Tom Eller, W. F. Anderson, Morgin Martin, Woodrow Bailey and Hayden Wimmer. on April 18, 1967.⁵

Richards, on December 22, 1892 at Floyd Co., Virginia.^3,4,5 As of December 22, 1892,her married name was Walton. Melvina Elizabeth Poff died on December 20, 1937 at Bent Mountain, Roanoke Co., Virginia, at age 69.^1,4,5 She Melvina Elizabeth Walton, 69, wife of Louis Walton, of Bent Mountain vicinity, died at her home there Tuesday. Burial was in the Walton burial ground near Graysville. Surviving, besides her husband, are the following children; Alfred L. Walton, Roanoke; Miss Ruth Walton, Washington, D.C; Miss Pearl Walton, and Mrs. Louis A. Austin, Bent Mountain. A sister, Mrs. Asa L. Conner, and two brothers, William and David Poff, all of near Copper Hill, also survive. on December 23, 1937.⁵

Walton died last night at his home on Bent Mountain. Survivors are two daughters, Miss Ruth Walton, Lynchburg, and Mrs. L. A. Austin, Bent Mountain; and one son, A. L. Walton, Roanoke. Mr. Walton's wife, Mrs. Melvina Morgan Walton, died December 20. Burial will be in the Walton cemetery at Graysville. on December 31, 1937.³

William Riley "Billy" Poff was buried at Head of the River Cemetery (also known as Salem Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery), Rt. 221, Check, Floyd Co., Virginia.^9,7,8,10 He William Riley Poff, 83, was discovered dead on a plantation road near his home, late Sunday afternoon Nov. 4th. According to Mrs. Mona Coates, a daughter, he left home about 3 p.m. to visit some traps he had set. Becoming anxious over his long absence, neighbors and friends began a search, finding him lying in the middle of the plantation road. Sherriff Ora Williams and Deputy W. M. Phillips visited the scene. The body was brought here and examined by Dr. F. C. Bedsaul, who said it was apparent he had died from a heart ailment. Surviving are three daughters and one son. Mrs. C. M. Coates, Mrs. L. A. Holland, Mrs. Joseph Nichols, Copper Hill; Lemuel I. Poff, New Jersey, 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at Head of the River church followed by interment in church cemetery.⁸ He was born on March 8, 1862 at Floyd Co., Virginia.^9,1,7,10 He married Virginia Ann "Jennie" Carr, daughter of John William Carr and Julina A. Conner, on November 16, 1882 at Floyd Co., Virginia.^1,7 William Riley "Billy" Poff died on November 4, 1945 at Copper Hill, Floyd Co., Virginia, at age 83.^9,7,8,10

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Hattie M. Conner, who died in 1959. He was born in Floyd County, Va., the son of the late John and Sally Eddings Conner, and was a retired coal miner. Survivors include a son, William Conner of McComas; five daughters, Miss Elsie Conner of McComas, Mrs. William Cline of Bluefield, Mrs. Ernest Mathena of Princeton, Mrs. Kent Stevenson of Tazwell, Va., and Mrs. Wayne Conner in Connecticut; three sisters, Mrs. Lucy Kingrea of Rt. 3, Bluefield, Nannie and Rose Conner of Christiansburg, Va; five brothers, Tom and Doc Conner of Maple Acres, and Jim, Walter and Troy Conner of Floyd County; 23 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren. Burial will follow in Woodland cemetery. on May 11, 1961.⁵
