She loved her Church, church family and was loved by all. She is survived by a daughter, Rushie Conner and her husband, William (Benny), of Check, Va; a sister, Rushie Violet Smith, of Roanoke, Va; six grandchildren and spouses, William Glenn and Sue Conner, Calvin Ray and Barbara Conner, Leslie Dale and Shawn Conner, Randall B. and Melissa Conner, Donna Reynolds, and Jeffrey and Ginger Conner; 12 greatgrandchildren; three greatgreat-grandchildren; and a very special friend, Frances Conner. Interment will follow at Restvale Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff and wonderful nurses at Skyline Manor Nursing Home for the excellent care given to her while she was there. A special thanks goes to Frances for her love, support, and special care given to her during her illness and while she was in the nursing home. on July 7, 2008.²

Born April 20, 1862, near Harper's Ferry, Mr. Williams had been a car inspector for the Chesapeake & Ohio Railway for 50 years at his retirement eight years ago. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Car Inspectors and of Gladstone Baptist Church. His wife, Mrs. Emma Smoot Williams, died several years ago. Surviving Mr. Williams are three sons, R. W. Williams of Madison Heights, James E. Williams of Lynchburg, and Jack Williams of Gladstone; five daughters, Mrs. W. B. Taylor of Allen's Creek, Mrs. M. F. Guthrie of Richmond, Mrs. S. H. Thomas of Gladstone, Mrs. E. T. Smith of Lynchburg, and Mrs. Johnson of McLean; a brother Cam Williams of Missouri, and a sister, Mrs. T. H. Bryant of Lynchburg. He leaves also 28 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. on January 17, 1942.²

Elizena Laurena/Louvenna "Eliza Lura" "Eliza Laura" Conner died on June 23, 1952 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 88.^8,9,4,3 She Mrs. Eliza Lura Hale, of 88, Route 3, Ferrum, died this morning in Jefferson Hospital. Surviving are four sons and three daughters, J. B. Hale, M. C. Hale, D. O. Hale, all of Roanoke; H. M. Hale, Princeton, W.Va; Mrs. Artie Alridge, Floyd; Miss Curtis Hale and Mrs. May Webb, Ferrum; 20 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Interment in the family cemetery at Ferrum. on June 23, 1952.⁴
