In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Rhetta Mae Robertson Neal; a daughter, Karen Alicia Neal; a sister, Irene Johnson; and several sisters-in-law and brothersin-law. Known best to his friends and family as "Shorty," Jackie was a retired employee of Celanese Acetate in Narrows with over 35 years service. He also served in the United States Army from 1958 until 1962. But he'll best be remembered as a loving father and grandfather, and one who never met a stranger. He'll be dearly missed by his loved ones, friends at Burger King and Food Time in Narrows, and teachers and staff at Narrows Elementary/Middle School. Left to cherish his memory are a son, Jackie Lee Neal Jr. and wife, Alicia, of Peterstown; three daughters, Kristi and Barry McGuyer, Lori Neal and Jimmy Cornwell, and Ashley and Jason Robertson, all of Narrows; seven grandchildren, Tyler and Abbi McGuyer, of Narrows, Kalyn and Landon Neal, of Peterstown, and Zachery, Jacob and Brody Robertson, all of Narrows; a brother, Billy Neal, of Pearisburg; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many special friends, including very special friends, Barbara "Grammy" Ball, of Peterstown, and the girls, Barbara and Carol. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Narrows with Graveside Rites conducted by VFW Post #6000 of Narrows, American Legion Posts #68 of Narrows, #311 of Pembroke and #145 of Peterstown. on January 22, 2010.¹

She is survived by her husband, Jack Johnson; children, Brandi E. and husband, Patrick Gardner, of Nitro and Christopher L. and wife, Trisha Gautier, of Hampton, Va; brothers, William Neal of Pearisburg, Va., and Jack Neal of Narrows, Va; and two grandchildren Joel and Wyatt. Burial will follow in Haven of Rest Memory Gardens and Crematorium, Red House. on February 10, 2009.³

Teel; brother, Colen Teel; sisters, brothers-in-law, and sister-in-law, Opal Teel, Rheba Hamilton, Orpha and Jimmy Willard, Guy R. Duncan, Estes Gibson, and Pamela Teel. Dale is survived by his wife of 55 years, Freda W. Teel; daughter, Sarah E. Crawford and her husband, Steven R. Crawford; grandson, Dustin R. Harris; granddaughter, Paige E. Harris; friend and former son-in-law, Tony R. Harris; brother, sisters, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, William F. (Bill) Teel, Geneva Duncan, Ruby Gibson, Wilma Jean (Winkie) and Joe McKenzie; Imogene Teel; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Even with declining health, Dale was able to continue the farming he loved with the competent, reliable help of Joe Stump and his brothers, fondly called "The Boys" by Dale and Freda. Dale cherished his grandchildren, family get-togethers, A-Model cars and being with the car club members. Being a faithful member of the Christiansburg Church of Christ for most of his life, Dale enjoyed the fellowship of his church family. Dale's family expresses their thanks and appreciation to all those at Radford Nursing and Rehab and Good Samaritan Hospice for their care, compassion, and kindness. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. on Friday, July 29, 2011, at the Horne Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Saturday, July 30, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the Christiansburg Church of Christ with Mr. Dennis Curd officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery in Christiansburg.
