Coleman “Bill”; son & daughter–in-law, Charles & Beulah Conner; daughter, Mary Joyce Conner; daughter-in-law, Shirley B. Conner; grandchildren, Michael W. Conner, David Conner (Karen), Travis Faw (Gwen), Tracy Faw, Danah Conner Meadows (Gene); numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; also numerous nieces and nephews. He was born in Floyd County on September 12, 1939 and was a graduate of Floyd County High School. He was a Sergeant in the United States Army serving in the 101st Airborne Division as a Paratrooper in Fort Campbell, Ky. Ed was an award winning photographer having owned, Ed Conner Photography for 35 years. He was a member of the Virginia Professional Photographers where he served two terms as Lt. Governor, a member of Wedding Photographers of America and other various associations. He retired from Dupont with 25 years of service and had been a beekeeper for many years. He was preceded in death by his father, George Willie Conner. Survivors include his loving wife, Shirley of the home; his precious mother, Arva Conner Coleman; and step-father, Bill; son, Mike Conner; two step-daughters, Kathy and Lisa; three grandchildren including a very dear grandson, Triton Martin who built a special bond with his Papa Ed; five great grandchildren; sister, Joyce Conner of Roanoke; brother, Charles Conner and wife, Beulah of Floyd; brother-in-law, Burch Bryant and wife, Sandy of Huntington Beach, Calif; and other family and friends. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Sunday, September 25, 2016 in the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel where the service will follow at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Bill Richardson and Minister Lawrence Harris officiating. A private entombment will be held at Henry Memorial Park. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Gospel Road Baptist Church, 4305 Oak Level Road, Bassett, Va. 24055 or the Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 730 E. Church Street #13, Martinsville, Va. 24112. on September 25, 2016.1
