Conner Funeral services for Mrs. Laura Anna Whitlow, 80, of Kellysville will be conducted tomorrow. Interment will be in Oakvale Cemetery. Surviving are her husband; Joe, one daughter, Mrs. Lillie Fain of Princeton; and six sons: George of Rich Creek, Va; the Rev. Arlee of Norfolk, Va; L. J., N. C., Paul E., Carl C. aid Robert L., all of Kellysville; 38 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Whitlow died yesterday morning at the home of a son. L. J. Whitlow of Kellsyville. She was a charter member of the Kellysville Church of God and a resident of Mercer County for 66 years.

They were married for over 65 years and he had grieved so much after her death on March 23, 1992. The glad reunion will include his twin brother, and best friend, Morgan, who died March 27, 1999; also sisters, Sallie Johnson, Roxie Sisson, Effie Abshire, Rachel King, and Maye Craighead; brothers Robert and Merdieth Simpson. Surviving family includes his loving niece and caretaker, Virginia Mae King Agnew, and husband, Irvin, of Roanoke; ten nieces; and one nephew; also loving and caring neighbors and Lillie's nephew and wife, Russell and Anna Looney, Manassas; niece, Elsie Jefferson, Spring Hill, FL. He was a native of Salem since 1941 and was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church. He was born on Bent Mountain and came to Roanoke at age 14 and went to work at the American Iron and Bridge Works. Later he was employed by the Grumman Corporation for 55 years. Bill loved and was devoted to his work and retired at age 75. Interment at his wife's side will follow at Sherwood Memorial park. on March 27, 2001.

Preceded in death by her childhood sweetheart of 66 years, Irvin Simmons Agnew; parents Walter Irving and Rachel Simpson King; and son Randy Agnew. Left to cherish her memory: daughter Connie Gray (Ken); son Barry Agnew (Elizabeth); sister Peggy Adkins; sister-in-law Eleanor Peverall; grandchildren Brian Settles (Kimberly), Kevin Settles, Nikki Agnew, Todd Agnew (Keisha), Philip Agnew (Emily), Chloe Agnew and Josh Agnew; eight great-grandchildren. “Jen” was born on January 31, 1924. Her parents were founding members of Roanoke First Church of the Nazarene where she was an active member since childhood. She held numerous leadership roles at Morningside, Jackson, Rescue Mission and was an Avon representative for 51 years. Known by her grandchildren as MamaJen, her first priority was her family. There was no excuse for missing Sunday dinners and you better go to church. She was truly amazing as a caregiver to family, friends and neighbors. She gave praise and witnessed for Jesus lovingly and firm with no apologies in her life, words and actions. Interment will be at Sherwood Memorial Park.

3 Lewis Cass Bishop died on January 17, 1929 at Lake Helen, Volusia Co., Florida, at age 79.
8,1,3 He Lewis Cass Bishop, aged almost eighty years and an almost lifelong resident of Cass county except for periods winter residence in Florida, died Jan. 17 at Lake Helen, Fla., where he had resided for the past eight years. The body was cremated in Florida. Mr. Bishop was the oldest son of Daniel and Mary Bishop, pioneer residents of Mason township this county, where he was born Feb. 18, 1849. Here he grew to young manhood and was married Dec. 13, 1883 to Miss Belle M. Dills of the same township, who died Nov. 19, 1923. They had no children, but gave home for a numher of years to Edna Norwood, now Mrs. Cortez Adama, of Mason township. In August, 1924, Mr. Bishop was married to Mrs. Ida Keyes of Wisconsin, who survives him. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Nick Follmer, of Milton township; one brother, Timothy J. Bishop of Cassopolis; two nieces, Mrs. Verna Allen and Mrs. Grace Searer of Mason; two nephews, Leroy Bishop of Mason and Chester Follmer of Miltons, and two cousins, H. S. Bishop of Mason and Manley Bishop of Niles. At the age of twenty-five Mr. Bishop had engaged in the saw mill business in Cass county and for thirty-five years he continued lumbering and the operation of a threshing outfit in connection with his farming operations. In these well and favorably known throughout southern half of Cass county. For the past twenty years he spent his winters in Florida, and eight years ago sold his Mason township farm and took up his-permanent residence at his southern home. on January 31, 1929.

4,6 He Funeral services for Timothy J. Bishop, 71, who died Sunday evening at his home on East York street after an illness of several weeks' duration with heart disease, will be held Wednesday. Burial will follow in the Five Points cemetery in Mason township. Mr. Bishop had been a lifelong resident of Cass township except for two years spent in Elkhart. He was born in Mason township on December 25, 1859, the son of Dan and Mary Bishop. He had resided in Cassopolis the last two years and during that time has conducted a cream station. In 1888 he was married to Ada Benjamin, who died the following year. He was married again in 1899 to Mrs. Moody Horner who survives. A step-son, Cecil Bishop of Cheboygan, and a sister, Mrs. Nick Follmer of Milton township, also survive. on December 2, 1930.

Martha Bishop, a daughter of Daniel and Mary (Poff) Bishop, was born Feb. 26, 1865, on a farm in Mason township. She was united in marriage to Nicholas Follmer in 1885. Mr. Follmer passed away six years ago. Surviving are one son, Chester Follmer; two grandsons, Robert and Richard Follmer; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Mrs. Follmer possessed a friendly disposition and was highly respected by all who knew her. She was always ready to lend a helping hand and speak a kind word. Funeral services were held at Smith's Chapel. Burial took place in the Chapel cemetery. on December 22, 1938.
