James Thomas Posey Jr. James Thomas Posey, Jr., 81, of Highland Avenue, Princeton passed away early Monday morning, April 18, 2011 at CAMC, General Division, Charleston. Born December 1, 1929 in Nemours, he was the son of the late James Thomas Posey, Sr. and Hazel Hatcher Posey. He was of the Catholic faith and a U. S. Navy veteran and in the class of Princeton High School class of 1948. Jim was retired from WV Department of Highways with 22 years of service and had previously worked several years with Martin Aircraft company in Baltimore, Maryland. He was a long standing member of Princeton Elks Lodge # 1459. He loved his family and was known to many young children as the "Magic Man". He enjoyed sports and in the 1970's coached Princeton Sacred Heart Catholic Church basketball team to the city championship in the church league. Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 57 years, Phyllis Conner Posey of the home, two daughters Donna Linkous and husband Craig of Christiansburg, VA; Lynn Pendleton and husband Allen of Princeton; one son, James Thomas Posey, III and wife Tammy with the U.S. Army in Afghanistan. He is survived by four grandchildren, Candace Lynn Pendleton of Princeton, Dr. Jenna Lynn Walter and husband Jason of Bowling Green, KY; Callie Kay Posey of Mechanicsburg, PA; James Thomas Posey, IV of Radcliff, KY; one sister, Judy Greenspon and husband Walter of Charlottesville, VA; several nieces and nephews. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Serving as pallbearers will be Charlie Pace, Jim Luciano, Owen McKay, Steve Pendleton, Jerry Richardson, and Matthew Morris. Honorary pallbearers will be Dominic Luciano, Jim Quattrone and Joe Wheby.2 He was buried at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Courthouse Road, Princeton, Mercer Co., West Virginia.2 He was born on December 1, 1929 at Nemours, Mercer Co., West Virginia.3,1,2 He married Phyllis Joan Conner, daughter of A. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She will be missed by all. Doris is survived by her husband of 70 years, Marlin Edsel Conner; daughter, Sandra Conner; son, Jimmy (Missy) Conner; grandchildren, T.J. Conner, Brad (Patti Ann) Conner, Mindy (Nathan) Facemire; great-grandchildren, Liam Conner and Josie Mae Facemire; sisters, Louise Gilbert, Clara Oliver, and Bonnie (Paul) Hartsel. Special thanks to Hermitage Roanoke, especially the nurses and CNAs of Dogwood Lane, who provided such good, compassionate care for Doris. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. on May 30, 2019.5

He was predeceased by his father, William L. Bauman Sr. Bill retired after 32 years service from Trigon Blue Cross Blue Shield. He was a 1960 graduate of VPI and a member of the Corps of Cadets. He was a member of North Roanoke Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher and choir member. Active in the Lion's Club, he was a member in both the Northside and Villa Heights Clubs and held various offices on both the District and State level. Bill served on the Boards of the United Way, American Cancer Society, Roanoke Valley Speech and Hearing and the Mental Health Association. Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Delores Conner Bauman; two daughters, Dana Horan and husband, Christopher and Debra Turner; two precious granddaughters, Kara and Marla and their father, Bob Turner; mother, Vergie W. Bauman; sister, Patricia Sledd and husband, Mike; brother-in-law, Edsel Conner and wife, Doris; and several nieces and nephews. Interment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. on February 18, 2003.6
