DeSha of Nashville, Tenn; two grandsons, Joshua Carlan of Collierville, Tenn. and Derek DeSha of Nashville, Tenn; as well as many nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at Carilion Cancer and Rehab Center and a special niece, Cecilia Hall. on June 3, 2006.3

He served on the Advisory Board of the Salvation Army and was a past member of the United Way Foundation. He retired as manager from Kroger of Waynesboro with 40 years of service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Claudine Graham. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Sara Cook Carr; a son Glenwood "Woody" Carr, Jr. and his wife, Susan Reid-Carr of Midlothian; one daughter, Suzanne Carr Ramey and her husband D.C. of Mebane, N.C; one brother, Raymond Carr of Roanoke; and five grandchildren, Morgan Carr, Austin Carr, Hunter Carr, Sydney Ramey and Charlie Ramey. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Funeral Service by Pastor Debra Copeland. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery with rites conducted by Waynesboro Elks Lodge 2270. Active pallbearers will be Frank Roetto, Tom Bryant, Freddie Abshire, Ed Croft, Bobby Hull, Jim Goode, Carl Simmers and Harry Quick. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Waynesboro Elks Lodge No. 2270 and members of the Men's Club of Wayne Hills United Methodist Church. on May 19, 2004.1

C; a brother, Marshall Cook, of Montvale; four sisters, Gay Booze, of Roanoke, Janet Tribbett, of Blue Ridge, Mable Booze, of Vinton, Bonnie Tribbett, of Blue Ridge; five grandchildren, Morgan Carr, Austin Carr, Hunter Carr, Sydney Ramey and Charlie Ramey. In addition to her family, she had two circles of friends in both her Kroger family and the Waynesboro BPO Elks Lodge. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Billy Booze, Jake Booze, Brian Weikel, Richard Tribbett, Robert Cook, Michael Reid and Frank Roetto. Left to cherish his memory are three daughters, Nancy Holman of Virginia Beach, Joyce Ryan of Chesapeake and Mary Matthews of Kansas; a son, James of California; two brothers, Barry and Bruce Holman; two sisters, Barbara Cupps and Mary Reynolds; 10 grandchildren, 26 great- grandchildren and a great- great-granddaughter. James was proud to have been a Marine and to have served during World War II. He was a custom trim carpenter for 49 years in the Hampton Roads area. James was a Baptist deacon for over 50 years and also served his Savior and church as a Sunday School superintendent. He was on the board of the Virginia Annual Gospel Singing Convention where he enjoyed his love of Southern Gospel Music. A special thanks to his friends at IHOP on General Booth Blvd., especially Jamie Ramey, for the love and friendship shown to our Dad over the last few years. A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, in Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home on Witchduck Road by the Rev. Marshall Boney and the Dr. J.D. Norris Jr., burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, March 8, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on March 7, 2011.3
