Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Lynch Chapel, with burial in Mountain View Cemetery, Boones Mill. on September 23, 1959.3

     Grace Flora Sowder was buried at Mountain View Memorial Park (also known as Mountain View Burial Park), 5970 Grassy Hill Road, Boones Mill, Franklin Co., Virginia.4,5 Her Social Security Number was 223-50-0064.6 She was born on March 23, 1897 at Callaway, Franklin Co., Virginia.6 As of January 6, 1916,her married name was Pendleton.1 She married Noah Cabble Pendleton, son of Eli Pendleton and Olive C. Cooper, on January 6, 1916 at Franklin Co., Virginia.1,4 Grace Flora Sowder died on June 9, 1992 at Franklin Co., Virginia, at age 95.6,4,5,7 She Mrs. Grace Sowder Pendleton went to be with the Lord June 9, 1992. She was 95 years old, and was a life-long member of St. Peters Episcopal Church and a frequent visitor of Gogginsville United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Noah Cabell Pendleton, one son, Wilson Pendleton, and two daughters, Frances Hodges and Mary Pendleton. She was the daughter of Mary Webb and John Brud Sowder. Surviving are three daughters and two sons-in-law, Mrs. Brent (Hilda) Guilliams, Mrs Ebb (Maude) Bolling, Mrs. J.C. (Carol) Ferguson; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Wilton and Hazel Pendleton, Jacob and Melva Pendleton, Howard and Betty Pendleton, Frank Pendleton; and a former daughter-in-law. Also surviving is a special and faithful friend, Mattie Adkins, and special friends, Don and Joan Fetcher; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Dr. Wilson and Lucille Sowder, Jacksonville, Fla; Judge John Harvey and Mable Sowder, Richmond; three sisters, Mrs. Wolton (Louise) Akers, Rocky Mount; Mrs. Carl (Sadie) Bussey, Richmond; Mrs. Herbert (Edith) Holt, Maryland; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Dillard (Virginia) Sowder, Mrs. Rodney (Eva) Sowder. Also surviving are nineteen grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 12, 1992, from Lynch Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Christine Payden-Travers and the Rev. Stanley Wright with interment to follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 7:00 to 9:00 Thursday evening at Lynch Funeral Home. Lynch Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. on June 11, 1992.4
