He is survived by his wife, Emma Caldwell Long; his step-son and wife, Brian and Carol Anne Caldwell; his sister and brother-in-law, Eleanor and Bill Anderson of Covington; two nephews and their wives, Billy and Rhonda Kessinger of Roanoke Rapids, N.C., Alex and Stephanie Kessinger of Covington; one niece, Brenda Clark and her husband, Steve of Covington; he is also survived by six great nephews, four great nieces and several cousins. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 24, 1998 at 10 a.m. at the John M. Oakey & Son Salem, Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Slaughter officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Covington, Va. at 12 noon with the Rev. Bill Gilliland officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 23 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. on December 24, 1998.2
