Lydia "Liddy" Wilson1

F, b. October, 1824, d. after June, 1900
Lydia "Liddy" Wilson Enumerated with her son Floyd's family in the 1900 Floyd Co. Virginia Census. Floyd and Isaac lived near the arsenic mines, the land was homesteaded and after Abraham's death, the land was divided between them. Isaac's portion was later owned by the Poff's. Until recently, Floyd's son, William Vest, lived at the old homeplace. Floyd, being the strongest, physically, was kept home to farm, while Isaac was sent to school near Abingdon and was a teacher. His first school was in an old Ferguson house near Roscoe Willis' store. This was told by Wanda Vest, his daughter-in-law. Later the one-room school was built, known as the Vest school and probably named for its first teacher, Isaac Vest; better known as "Little Ike". She was born in October, 1824 at Virginia.2 She married Abraham Vest, son of Littleberry "Berry" Vest and Sarah "Sally" James, on April 17, 1852 at Floyd Co., Virginia.3,1 As of April 17, 1852,her married name was Vest.
