Restvale Cemetery in Floyd Co., Virginia, was established in the 1950's. on the land of Willard Charles Simpson. He was first person buried there, in 1958. Originally the land was owned by Willard Simpson's mother, Bethanie Frances Conner Simpson, second wife of William Tazewell Simpson. Bethanie inherited the land, estimated to be about 15 acres, from her father, Daniel Conner. Willard Simpson inherited about 9 acres from his mother and the rest went to his sister.      Nancy James Ratcliffe Nancy Ratcliffe Altice, born March 29, 1941, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2022, surrounded by most of her family after a long battle with Parkinson’s. She was a very much loved Mom, Granny, Weme, sister, aunt, and friend to many. She was preceded in death by her parents, Waddy and Nannie Ratcliffe; brothers, Terry, Harry, Roy, Bobby, George; and sisters, Mary and Mildred.
