Krista Lynne Crouch1,2,3,4
F, b. February 8, 1962, d. December 18, 2021
Krista Lynne Crouch Krista Lynne Crouch - Krista went to her heavenly home to be with God on December 18, 2021 in Asheville, NC, at Mission Hospital where she was pursuing medical treatment related to a courageous battle with cancer. She passed away with her beloved family by her side. Krista was born at St. Joseph's Hospital in Asheville NC, on February 8, 1962, to Phillip and Sandra Crouch. She graduated from AC Reynolds High School (1980) and Appalachian State University (1985) where she earned a Bachelors' Degree in Accounting. Krista was a member of Phi Mu Fraternity and worked as an accountant for Chetola Resort in Blowing Rock, NC. She also worked for her father at Ideal Drug Store doing accounting work before marrying and moving to Virginia where she primarily lived in the Danville area, working as an accountant for Carpetland for fourteen years. She was involved in many social activities and shared life with many friends while living in Virginia. Krista especially enjoyed gardening; planting, growing, and arranging flowers, and being a member of the Wayside Garden Club serving as treasurer and board member. Also enjoying the lifelong hobby of collecting and refurbishing furniture from salvaged items and doing art projects to which she enjoyed all her life. Krista returned home to Asheville in 2013 to be near family and friends. She was hired by John Cram to be Accounting Manager of his businesses including New Morning Gallery, Bellagio, Blue Spiral Art Studio, and Fine Arts Movie Theater. Krista was outstanding in her work because of her diligence and her dedication to make everything better. Additionally, she used her artistic talents selling items, and serving as volunteer at the Biltmore Village Art & Craft Fair. She enjoyed participating in creative outlets like the Black Mountain Art in Bloom exhibit. Krista's love for life and others was over the top special and this is what stands out about her life. She loved others fully and passionately wherever she was and whenever it could be done. Always finding magical ways of bringing people together, addressing what could be better, and navigating best outcomes. Krista in her brave and courageous spirit sought goodness through a generous life of giving to everyone she met. Krista was close to all her family, a very special aunt to many nieces and nephews. She created fun adventures with each one and giving the perfect gift every time. She was the "Best Friend", Best Girl Friend—to so many and loved by so many! She made us all better, she showed us what love is about and how to love well. She made us try things, do things that we are would be reluctant to try, she made us laugh, cry, and live fully into love. Krista was a great lover of travel, organizing many trips with family and friends. She always loved to seek out and go on big adventures. Zip-lining as recent as a month ago, nature hiking, and obtaining her motorcycle license. She loved creating a beautiful table setting with unique China, seeking out rare finds from antique stores, decorating for every holiday, and making beautifully wrapped presents. Krista was a lifelong member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and actively served as the church's Finance Chair. She also helped organize the Children's Sanctuary area and contributed to the BEAR Closet church program. Krista is survived by her beloved family which includes her parents, Phillip and Sandra Crouch, her sister, Karen Doucette and her husband, Mike Doucette (Fallston, NC), her brothers, Phillip Crouch Jr. and sister-in-law, Vanessa Crouch (Asheville, NC) and Michael Crouch and sister-in-law Candace Crouch (Birmingham, AL) and close family friend, Roland Metivier.
