William Edward Gray was buried at Squibb Cemetery, Squibb, Greene Co., Missouri; William and his wife Milly Lester Gray are both buried in a small cemetery east of Bois D' Arc. The cemetery is known as the "Squibb Cemetery". The town of Squibb does not exist any longer. The only remains is the cemetery. Most often the tombstones of a cemetery will either face the primary road that the cemetery is located next to, or the tombstones face the drives within the cemetery. The "Squibb Cemetery" is located next to a country road and is small enough that there are no drives within. The country road that runs past the cemetery runs east and west, with the cemetery being on the south side of the road. One would think that the cemetery tombstones would be facing north, facing the country road. Instead the tombstones are facing south, looking down into a beautiful valley containing a small, peaceful, river.4,3 He Fought for the Confederate States of America during the Civil War. He served in Company A, 30th Battalion, Regimant of Sharpshooters, Confederate Unit. While in the service he held the rank of Fourth Corporal.4 He was born on February 10, 1836 at Franklin Co., Virginia.1,2,3 He married Mildred "Milly" Lester, daughter of Champ Lester, on September 17, 1857 at Raleigh Co., West Virginia.1 William Edward Gray died on May 20, 1910 at West Center Township, Greene Co., Missouri, at age 74.3
