     Karen Elaine Poff Karen Elaine Conord, 62, of Christiansburg, Virginia passed away on Monday, April 13, 2020. Karen was born October 27, 1957. She was a graduate of Christiansburg High School, class of 1976. Karen lived in Florida for many years serving as a Director of a Day Care Center in Daytona Beach. She loved her “children”. She loved to cook, bake, and was very creative always making crafts or knitting chemo caps to donate to the local cancer center. She was a member of the Belmont II Ruritan Club and worked at State Electric in Christiansburg. Her nickname in our Ruritan Club started as Angel Girl. During one of the meetings, we talked about how they used to discipline kids in elementary school, and she had to stand inside a chalk circle on the blackboard. We quickly changed her name to chalk circle. But Monday she became Angel Girl again. Karen is preceded in death by her loving husband, Herbert Conord, step-father Karl Mowry, and her special companion Ricochet. She is survived by her loving mother Joyce (Epperly) Mowry, father David Poff (Fredene), brothers Dennis (Beth), Rick (Juliann), Gary (Teresa), and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Special thanks to the care givers at Radford Health & Rehab Center and especially to the loving caretakers of Interpid Hospice for taking care of Karen even when we were not able to visit due to COVID-19 restrictions.

     Timothy Preston "Tim" Sisson was buried at Piedmont Cemetery, Rt. 11 to Shawsville, turn at nursing home, Rt. 637, about 8 miles on the left, Montgomery Co., Virginia.^4,5,3 He was born on July 14, 1854 at Big Spring, Montgomery Co., Virginia.^4,2,1,5,3 He married Lucy Biar Smith, daughter of Byrd/Bird Smith and Lydia Ann Iddings, on May 20, 1875 at Floyd Co., Virginia.^1,2,5,6 Timothy Preston "Tim" Sisson died on February 27, 1956 at Bethel, Mercer Co., West Virginia, at age 101.^5,3 He Princeton, Feb. 27 - Timothy P. Sisson, believed to be Mercer County's oldest resident, died at the home of his son near Bethel Church this morning after a brief illness. Sisson was 101 years old last July 14. He was born July 14, 1854, at a settlement of one store and five log houses, known as Big Spring, Va. now Roanoke. In May 1874, he married Miss Lucy Smith, who preceded him in death in 1947 at the age of 91. Sisson was a farmer, retiring from work at the age of 88 when he went to make his home with his son, Robert A. Sisson. He is survived by six children: Mrs. J. E. Likens of Roanoke, Va., Boyd Sisson of Floyd County, Va., Mrs. J. F. Sheppard of Shawsville, Va., O. F. Sisson of Matewan, C. E. Sisson of Bluefield and Robert Sisson of Bethel. Three children preceded him in death. Sisson was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Princeton and attended a celebration on his 100th birthday in 1953 which was given by members of that church in Princeton, Bluefield and Athens. On July 4, 1953, he attended a birthday celebration in his honor at Shawsville, Va., with 93 of his descendants present - six children; 26 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren and seven great- great-grandchildren. The body will remain at Memorial Funeral Directory in Princeton until 9:45 a.m. Wednesday when a funeral cortege will leave for Shawsvill, Va. Services will be conducted there at 1:30 p.m. at Piedmont Methodist Church by the Rev. Vane Anderson and the Rev. Monroe Dodson. Burial will follow in Piedmont Cemetery. Grandsons and granddaughters will serve as pallbearers and flower bearers. on February 28, 1956.⁵

     Gary David Poff Gary David Poff, age 62, of Blacksburg, Va. passed away Saturday, December 19, 2020. Gary was born on December 2, 1958. He was an avid hunter and was employed by Virginia Building Services. Gary is preceded in death by his father, David Poff, step-father, Carl Mowry, and his sister, Karen. He is survived by his loving partner, Teresa, children, Travis, Savannah, Daniel and Donald (Jennifer), granddaughter, Jennifer, his loving mother, Joyce (Epperly) Mowry, step-mother, Fredene, brothers, Dennis (Beth), Rick (Juliann), and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.⁵ He married Teresa Unknown.^6,7,5 Gary David Poff was born on December 2, 1958 at Radford, Virginia.^1,2,4,3,5 He married Debra Ann Neal on September 5, 1975 at Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.^1,2 Gary David Poff and Debra Ann Neal were divorced on June 9, 1978 at Montgomery Co., Virginia.⁴ Gary David Poff married Deborah Sue "Debbie" Compton on May 24, 1979 at Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.^1,2 Gary David Poff and Deborah Sue "Debbie" Compton were divorced on October 3, 1986 at Montgomery Co., Virginia.⁴ Gary David Poff married Patricia Ann Dove on February 12, 1988 at Montgomery Co., Virginia.² Gary David Poff and Patricia Ann Dove were divorced on November 4, 1991 at Montgomery Co., Virginia.⁴ Gary David Poff married Debra Mae Young on March 13, 2001 at Montgomery Co., Virginia.² Gary David Poff and Debra Mae Young were divorced on October 13, 2005 at Montgomery Co., Virginia.⁴ Gary David Poff died on December 19, 2020 at Blacksburg, Virginia, at age 62.⁵

     Roy Gene Correll was buried at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, 5070 Cove Road N. W., Roanoke, Virginia.⁴ He was born on February 28, 1929 at Virginia.^2,6 He married Phyllis "Billie" Unknown circa 1950.^7,4 Roy Gene Correll died on December 24, 2011 at Virginia at age 82.⁴ He Roy Gene Correll, 82, of Roanoke, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2011. A professional driver, Mr. Correll served in the artillery division of the United States Army from 1948-51 and enjoyed a 30 year career with Wilson Trucking and Smith Transfer. He was a loyal member of the Teamsters Local #171. Mr. Correll graduated from Auburn High School in Riner. A good and honest man, Mr. Correll passed along these simple and honorable traits to his family and friends. He was a devoted family man; a loving husband, father and grandfather. An avid outdoorsman and sports enthusiast, Mr. Correll was always game for a contest. Mr. Correll is predeceased by his eldest daughter, Patricia Jean Correll. He is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 61 years, Phyllis (Billie) Correll; and children, David Correll and wife, Brooke, of Charlottesville, Judy Sibley and husband, Bill, of Roanoke, and Amanda McCaul and husband, Hugh, of Troutville. He is survived by four grandchildren, Emily, Allison and Liam McCaul, and Roy Correll. He is also survived by his brother, Wayne Correll and wife, Doris, of Vinton; and many nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed by all of them.
The family would like to thank the dedicated team at Virginia Veterans Care Facility, where he received outstanding love and care for the past year. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, with Pastor David M. Derrow officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at Oakey's Vinton Chapel. on December 27, 2011.⁴

     Dorothy F. Correll was born on November 22, 1937 at Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.² As of June 17, 1961,her married name was Quesenberry.² She married Guy H. "Sonny" Quesenberry on June 17, 1961 at Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.² Dorothy F. Correll died on October 3, 2013 at Virginia at age 75.² She Dorothy Correll Quesenberry, 75, of Williamsburg, "Dorothy Faye" as she was known by those closest to her, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 3, 2013. She slipped away while at home, surrounded by her grandchildren and her beloved husband, Sonny. Dorothy was born in Christiansburg on November 22, 1937. Always an avid learner, she graduated from Christiansburg High School and attended King College where she graduated at the top of her class with a Bachelors degree in English. She was hired in Newport News at Warwick High School in 1959. Always a lifelong learner, she graduated with a Masters in Education from William and Mary. She spent the majority of her teaching career as a 12th grade English teacher at Menchville High School before retiring in 1989. She was the daughter of the late Herman and Hazel Correll, of Christiansburg. She is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years, Guy H. "Sonny" Quesenberry of Williamsburg. They met in 1959 while he was attending Clemson on a football scholarship and have been together ever since. On June 17, 1961, they were married at Christiansburg Presbyterian Church. Their marriage was one to admire and emulate. Dorothy leaves two children, a daughter, Harriet Quesenberry Stevens and her husband, Kirk Stevens, of Newport News and her son, Guy H. Quesenberry Jr. and his wife, Stephanie L'Heureux Quesenberry, of Dugspur to savor her memory. Dorothy adored her grandchildren, Ashleigh Matthews, S. Kyle Wightman and Shelby Raye Wightman. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Alice Correll, of Lexington, and her beloved nephew, Frank Correll Jr. of Fairfax.Dorothy was an inspiration to all who knew her especially how she valiantly battled Multiple Sclerosis for more than 25 years. Before MS, she loved playing piano, sewing, bike riding, eating chocolate, and helping others. She was an active member of Denbigh Presbyterian Church. Dorothy continued to read and do crosswords; her knowledge about English never waned. She was the picture of grace and charm, intelligent, witty, kind and thoughtful. Our gift from heaven is now back in heaven.      Frank Epperly Correll was born on January 18, 1943 at Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.^3,4,5 He married Alice Jean Cox on April 1, 1972 at Falmouth, Stafford Co., Virginia.^3,5 Frank Epperly Correll died on June 22, 2018 at Lexington, Rockbridge Co., Virginia, at age 75.³ He Frank Epperly Correll of Lexington, Va., avid Hokie fan (therefore, an eternal optimist) died on June 22, 2018. He was born on January 18, 1943, in Christiansburg, Va. to Herman and Hazel Correll. He graduated from Christiansburg High School and Virginia Tech. In November of 1971, during a stint as an insurance salesman, he met Alice Cox; she did not buy the life insurance but she was enamored of the salesman--they were married five months later, absolutely thrilling her mother. Frank, Jr., appeared six years later. Throughout the years he was a member of the Kiwanis Club, and on the boards of United Way, Stonewall Jackson Hospital and Kendal at Lexington. Following his retirement from a career in banking, he found fulltime enjoyment monitoring the golf course with friends, reading history and cheering the Hokies to periodic football glory. Frank is survived by his wife, Alice; and son, Frank; and a niece Harriet; and nephew, Guy. Services will be held at Lexington Presbyterian Church at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 25, 2018. The burial will be private. on June 23, 2018.³
