Howard Wesley Perdue Howard Wesley Perdue, 64, passed peacefully to his Heavenly home on Friday, July 12, 2024 while in the arms of his loving wife with family by his side. Wesley was born on March 4, 1960 to Harry & Edna Perdue and was from Check, VA. As a teenager, he fell in love with his soul mate, Dinah. Shortly after Wesley graduated from Floyd County High School he was married and then courageously served in the United States Army. After leaving the military, he worked as a machinist for many years. Wesley and Dinah went on to have three children, three grandchildren, and were married for 42 years. Wesley was not only hard-working, loyal, independent, and often described as “tough as nails,” but he also had a wonderful sense of humor. He was a well-known prankster and found great joy in making others laugh. As an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. Above all, he cherished his family and was a loyal husband, proud father, affectionate grandfather, and a surrogate father to many. Although we are heartbroken by his loss, we take great solace in celebrating a wonderfully meaningful life well-lived. He was truly loved, will be dearly missed, and remains forever in our hearts. Wesley was preceded in death by his father, Harry Perdue; brother, Bobby Perdue; and father-in-law & mother-in-law, Ray & Kate Phillips. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Dinah P. Perdue; children, Brian Perdue, Kari McCoy (Austin), and Kimberly Perdue; grandchildren, Natalie Tessar, Brea Tessar, and Colt McCoy; mother, Edna Perdue; sisters, Sandra Perdue and Nancy McCormick (Larry); and many nieces and nephews.3 He was born on March 4, 1960 at Roanoke, Virginia.5,1,7,3,4 He married Dinah Lynn Phillips on December 12, 1981 at Floyd, Floyd Co., Virginia.1,7,3 Howard Wesley Perdue died on July 12, 2024 at Virginia at age 64.3

Buddy was born on November 24, 1947 to James Burton and Annie Elizabeth Haney of Blacksburg, Va. who precede him in death. He was also preceded in death by brother-in-law, Harry Alls; and an infant son. Buddy was a long-time faithful employee of Poly-Scientific (currently MOOG Components) in Blacksburg where he worked for more than 45 years as Shipping Supervisor before retirement in 2015. He served nine years in a local Virginia National Guard unit and later held membership in Stuart's Horse Artillery Camp #1784, SCV on the service of his great-grandfather Thomas Davis. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Linda Aldridge Haney; sons, Chris Haney of Roseland, Va. and Alex Haney of Denver, Colo; sisters, Mary Alls of Blacksburg and Ella Sue Moore (Albert) of Mechanicsville, Va; nieces, Wanda Alls of Christiansburg, Deborah Moore of Mechanicsville and Diane Alexander (Brian) of Richmond; nephew, Randall Alls (Becky) of Pilot, Va; and great-niece, Crystal Wharton (Jerry) of Blacksburg, as well as his Aldridge family. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Ryan Gentzler and RN Kelly Phillips of the Emily Couric Cancer Center Hematology and Oncology Department at the University of Virginia whose special care of Buddy facilitated a five-year battle with cancer. We would also like to thank Dr. Heather Brooks and the nursing staff at Lewis-Gale Blue Ridge Cancer Center for their special care during his treatments. Also, we are thankful to Cindy's Companion Service for the helpful care given to Buddy in his last few days. Graveside services will be held in the Restvale Cemetery. on November 14, 2020.4
