Phyllis Ann Wilson Phyllis Wilson Barkheimer, 81, of Roanoke City, passed away Wednesday February 18, 2015. A beloved mother, sister, grandmother and friend, Phyllis was born in Floyd County, and had been a local resident most of her life. Her last working years she enjoyed volunteering at LOA Adult Care. Her parents Jim and Ethel Wilson of Copper Hill, Sister Agnes Church of Roanoke, son Jeffrey Barkheimer and daughter Patricia Hill of Salem preceded her death. She was survived by her son Gary Barkheimer and partner James Farmer of Roanoke, her dear son in law Richard Hill of Salem, and grandsons Joshua Hill and Jason Barkheimer, and granddaughter Brandy Barkheimer. She also had numerous great grandchildren. She was the sister of Paul (Pat) Wilson and wife Peggy Wilson of Rocky Mt, and James (Mike) Wilson and wife Peggy Wilson of Wirtz. Phyllis will also be missed by her faithful granddog Louie. The family would like to take this time to thank her special cousin Shelby Mowles of Roanoke, and her close friends Elizabeth Stone of Floyd, Helen “Yaya” Asimakopoulos of Roanoke, Denise Campbell of Roanoke, Sylvia Shortt of Roanoke and Cyndy Brown of Lynchburg, for their dear friendships. Phyllis we love you and will miss you greatly. Family visitation will be held at Oakey’s South Chapel on Brambleton Ave. Sunday Feb 22 from 2-4 and 6-8p.m. Her funeral services will be held at the same location Monday Feb 23 at 12:00 p.m., Pastor Branan Thompson Jr. will officiate. The family will be receiving guests at their home located at 3931 Richland Ave NW after the service. Arrangements by Oakey’s South Chapel.2 She married Robert L. For many winters she lived in Fort Pierce, Florida and attended Parkview Baptist Church, where she made many friends. She lived the last seven years in Ocala, Florida. Mrs. Peters was preceded in death by her parents, Isaac Eldridge and Susie Wilson Craighead and her husband, Jessie Huie Peters. She is survived by her sisters, Ina Walters of Salem and Rheba Cooper of Ocala, Florida; niece, Kathy (Larry) Popeil and Ocala Florida; nephews, Gary (Cindy) Cooper of Fort Pierce, Florida, Robert ( Lisa) Craighead, Richard (Annette) Craighead, and Neil Walters, as well as many grand and great grand nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be conducted on at the Vest Cemetery. on February 23, 2021.4

Three nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2005 at Copper Hill Church of the Brethren with the Reverend Sue Morris, the Reverend Dale Bowman, and the Reverend Maurice Wright officiating. Interment will follow in the Copper Hill Church of the Brethren Cemetery. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Tuesday at Gardner Funeral Home where the family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Arrangements are being handled by Gardner Funeral Home.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Willard John and Virgie Conner; in-laws, Robert and Elizabeth (Betty) Hale; sister Juanita Pugh; and granddaughter, Ava Noel Conner.Jack is survived by wife, Louise Hale Conner; two sons, Christopher Conner of Salem, and Gregory Conner and wife, Amanda, of Indian Valley; three grandchildren, Luke, Joshua, and Caleb Conner; brother, Howard Wesley Conner and wife, Evelyn, of Roanoke; brother-in-law, William (Bill) Pugh of Roanoke; several nieces, nephews, and numerous friends and church family. Burial will follow at the Restvale Cemetery. on January 24, 2016.4

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 46 years, Ruth Davis Gearhart of the home; two daughters, Rhonda Vaughan and husband Brad, and Dawn Green and husband Bob all of Rock; two sisters, Evelene Horne of Rock, and Joy Garten and husband Jack of Roanoke, Va; four grandchildren, Amanda Miles and husband Chris, Amber Gene Ealy and husband Aaron, Aaron Green, and Gene-Paul Green all of Rock; and three great-grandchildren, John Miles, Abigail Miles and Timothy Brad Ealy all of Rock. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Wright Mountain Independent Baptist Church at Rock with Pastor Barry Wellman and the Rev. Randolph Dishner officiating. Interment will follow at Wesley Chapel Cemetery at Wright Mountain, Rock. Family will be pallbearers. Friends may call today from 6-8 p.m. at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton and at the church one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. on April 17, 2003.2

Myrtle Marie Wilson Mrs. Myrtle Marie Wilson Bolt, 86, of Mount Airy, passed away early Monday morning, October 24, 2022, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. Bolt was born August 23, 1936, in Floyd County, VA, one of seven children born to the late William Theodore and Shirley Mae Conner Wilson. Marie retired from Spencer’s Inc. after many years of service and was a member of Shelton Church of the Brethren. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Jesse Anderson Bolt, Jr. of the home; a daughter, Nancy Bolt Pugh of Mount Airy; two grandsons, Justin Landry of Mount Airy and Brandon Landry of Ponchatoula, LA; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Mary Frances Wilson Spangler Nester of Floyd, VA, Ruby Gay and Billy Harter of Bassett, VA, and Beulah Mae and Clyde Correll of Floyd, VA; a brother and two sisters-in-law, Percy Lee and Phyllis Wilson of TX and Scottie Wilson of Lewisville; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bolt was preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret Ann Bolt; a sister, Bonnie Rose Wilson; and a brother, James Robert Wilson. Airy, NC; Ruby Harter, (Bill) of Basset, Virginia; a brother, Percy Wilson, (Phyllis), of Pilot Point Texas and a sister-in-law Scottie Wilson of Lewisville, NC and several nieces and nephews.
