E. O. Brown, pastor, of First Baptist Church here. Mr. Caldwell, who was 78, died following a lengthy illness. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. Born Aug. 30, 1874, at Effingham, Ill., he was the son of Amos P. and Virginia Hendrix Caldwell. He was reared in Southwest Missouri and attended school at Mountain Home Academy in Arkansas. In 1897, he was married to the former Miss Delia Daniel of Des Arc, Ark. They came to Barfield in 1913 from Iron County, Mo., and he taught in Mississippi County schools for 15 years. Later, he worked at the Meyer Bros. Gin Co. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Chester Caldwell of Blytheville and Herschel Caldwell of Durham. N.C; three daughters, Mrs. Essie Lendennie, Mrs. Lagrone Whittle and Miss Patsy Caldwell, all of Blytheville; seven grandchildren and one great-Taylor, William Young, Jim Allen Haynes, John Taylor, Charles Lutes and Frank Whitworth. on February 6, 1952.7

Goodwin, son of the late J. W. Goodwin, and a former resident of Pomona, passed away Sunday night in Los Angeles at the home of his sister, Mrs. Lenna Burford. Interment will be made in Pomona cemetery at 1 o'clock, a short service being read at the grave. Mr. Goodwin was born in Greenock, Ill., and was thirty-seven years of age. He lived for a number of years in Pomona, before going, to Los Angeles and his death was sudden, having been ill but a short time with pneumonia. Deceased is survived by two sisters and three brothers, who are, Mrs. Richard Burford, Los Angeles and Mrs. Lulu Lussier, South Dakota, Charles O. Goodwin, Willard L. Goodwin, Los Angeles, and Guy Goodwin, of South Dakota. on February 3, 1920.6

Goodwin, former Pomonan, died April 30 in Los Angeles, and funeral services will be at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon in Elwood cemetery chapel, according to notice received here today. Mr. Goodwin, 64 years old, was a son of the late Dr. J. W. Goodwin, one of the early settlers of Pomona valley. The Goodwin home was located near the corner of Holt and Garey avenues where the First Baptist church now stands. Mr. Goodwin went to Los Angeles in 1900 and had been engaged in the real estate business until his recent illness. He was a member of Hollywood Beverly Christian church and was active in different branches of the churchs work. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Marion Elmore Goodwin, at the family home, 450 W. Bundy drive, in Westwood district of Los Angeles; two sons, Charles and John; two daughters, Lucy and Caroline; a sister, Mrs. R. S. Burford, Los Angeles; a brother, Guy K. Goodwin, San Dimas. on May 2, 1940.7

Goodwin died on May 21, 1938 at Pomona, Los Angeles Co., California, at age 60.8,4 She SAN DIMAS, May 23 - Mrs. Lulu G. Lussier, 61, wife of Joseph O. Lussier of 515 Belleview avenue, San Dimas, died Saturday night at the Pomona Valley Community hospital following a few weeks illness. Born in Greenup, Ill., on January 21, 1877, she came to California from Toledo, Ill., 52 years ago and for the past 28 years, she and Mr. Lussier had made their Horne in San Dimas. She was an active member of the Christian church of San Dimas. Besides her husband, she is survived by four sons, Joseph E. Lussier of Pasadena, Warren F. and Jack Lussier, both of Los Angeles, and Raymond G. Lussier at the family home. She also leaves a sister, Mrs. S. Richard Burford of Los Angeles and two brothers, Guy K. Goodwin of San Dimas and Charles O. Goodwin of Los Angeles. Funeral services will be held from the San Dimas Christian church, Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with the Rev. Willard C. Dorsey, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment will follow in Pomona cemetery. on May 23, 1938.4
