Peck Baxter, an infant daughter, Nancy Ellen Baxter, a sister, Thelma Elmore Morgan Landers, and a brother, Lonnie C. Elmore. Mrs. Baxter married O. Peck Baxter in 1944, and moved to Pulaski where she lived until her death. She was a graduate of Radford University, and taught school in Snowville for 14 years and in Pulaski for 25 years, retiring in June 1976. She was a published writer of short stories, poems and religious material, appearing in national magazines. She was the winner in several local, district and state poetry contests. She was an enthusiastic traveler, visiting in 49 states and 16 countries outside the United States. She was a former member of the Poetry Society of Virginia, the Pulaski Woman's Club, the Pulaski Music Club, Delta Kappa Gamma Honor Society for Teachers, Duodecim Club, a local book club, the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 113, and Friends of the Library. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. While a member of the Snowville Christian Church, she organized their first youth group, and as a member of the Pulaski Christian Church, she was president of the Guild and district secretary of Women's Work. She is survived by one sister and her husband, Helen and Roy Richardson, Pulaski; a niece and her husband, Marian and Gary Lockard, Dublin; a nephew and his wife, Philip and Brenda Richardson, Moneta; two great-nieces, Marsha Wright and her husband, Ronnie Wright of Bedford, Miss Kimberly Richardson of Moneta; a great-great-niece, Megan Wright, Bedford; and special friends, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Dean and Brent, and Teresa Webb. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday from Thomas M. Seagle & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack Weikel and the Rev. Ty Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Visiting will be Monday evening from 7 until 9 at Thomas M. Seagle & Sons Funeral Home. on February 8, 1993.2

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Marian and Gary Lockard of Dublin; one son and daughter-in-law, Philip R. and Brenda Richardson of Ocala, Fla; two grandchildren; Mrs. Ronald "Marsha" Wright of Bedford and Mrs. James "Kimberly" Dunbar of Denver, Colo; two great-grandchildren, Megan and Lauren Wright. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 25, 2001 at 11 a.m. at Thomas M. Seagle & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert E. Wallace officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. Visiting will be anytime Tuesday after 2:00 p.m. at Thomas M.
