     Martha Jane Brizendine married Robert Ervin Nowlin.² Her married name was Nowlin.² Martha Jane Brizendine was born on August 25, 1938 at Craig Co., Virginia.² She died on February 11, 2009 at Virginia at age 70.² She Martha Jane Nowlin, 70, of Salem, Va., passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2009. She was born on August 25, 1938, in Craig County and was the daughter of the late Marshall and Minerva Brizendine. Martha was retired from the housekeeping department at Lewis Gale Medical Center. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters. She was the last of 13 children. Martha is survived by her husband, Robert Ervin Nowlin; two daughters, Sylvia Ann Blankenship and husband, Jim, and Debra Mae Anderson and husband, Jeff; five grandchildren, Jason, Heather, Sarah, Wendy, and Jamie; five great-grandchildren, Josh, "Little Mae," Sierra, Carolyn, and Abigail; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members. A memorial service will be conducted 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2009, in the chapel of John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem with Richard Britt officiating. Emory was a lifetime resident of Salem. He worked for Hart Motor Company for over 40 years before retiring. He was a member of the Salem Church of Christ. He was a diehard Salem Spartans football fan. Emory was preceded in death by his parents, Pearl and Harry Hall; brother, William "Billy" Hall; sister, Virginia Parris; and first wife, Madeline Hall. Emory is survived by his wife, Penny Hall; children and stepchildren, Harold Stull, Robert Stull, Richard Stull, Anthony Spencer, Amanda Garcia, and their spouses; brother, Oscar Hall; sisters, Polly Crone, Barbara Harris, Shirley Vorst, and their spouses; several grandchildren; and great-grandchildren including a very special grandson, Alexander Spencer; a very special and dear cousin, Ruth Wade; and special K-9 friend, "Peaches".
