F, b. December 4, 1948, d. June 27, 2021
Ramona Ann Cook Ramona “Mona” Ann Conner, 72, of Elliston, VA passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 27, 2021. Mona was born in Beckley, WV on Saturday, December 4, 1948, to her parents, Lee Moles and Amy Cook. She was raised on southern values and solid faith. She went on to marry James Conner Jr., and shared seventeen years of love together. Together they raised two children, and it went without question how much her family meant to her. It was a known quality of hers that she put the needs of others, especially her family’s, before hers no matter the circumstances. She worked tirelessly to provide for them, even at times working three jobs, if need be. Mona’s heart was no doubt large and of solid gold. In her older years you would often find her watching the QVC channel to the point she knew every little detail about the show, the sales team members, and other staff by name and so much more. But her favorite activity most of all was going out to eat or sharing a home cooked meal with family and friends. Mona will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lee Moles and Amy Cook; loving husband and friend of seventeen years, James E. Conner Jr; sisters, Peggy Basham, and Bonnie Trent. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jeffrey Conner (Ginger) and Cindy Conner; grandchildren, Amber Dalton, Allen Conner, Adam Conner, Dustin McClure, as well as Matthew and Bethany LaPrade; great-grandchildren; Brayden and Mila LaPrade, as well as Camden and Kole Conner; also left to cherish her memory are numerous other family members and dear friends. The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to the nurses and staff of Lewis Gale Medical Center Unit 6 West.3 She was born on December 4, 1948 at Fayetteville, Fayette Co., West Virginia.1,4,3 She married James Edward "Jimmy" Conner Jr., son of James Edward "Ed" Conner Sr. and Ruby Irene Mills, on April 22, 1967 at Floyd Co., Virginia.1,3 As of April 22, 1967,her married name was Conner.
