Adamson was born in Appanoose county, Iowa, April 21, 1862 and passed away at his home in Nelson, Nebraska, May 13, 1939, at the age of 77 years and 22 days. He came to Nebraska in the year of 1882. He was married to Jennie Oldham September 24, 1890. to this union were born one son and two daughters, one daughter dying at the age of three and one-half years.
He accepted Christ as his Savior when a young man and had lived a Christian life. He liked to read and study the Bible to find the true meaning of God's word. He was a good husband, father, and neighbor, and ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, his son and wife, one daughter and husband, five grandchildren and one great grandchild; three brothers, a number of nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. The funeral service was conducted in the Christian church Monday afternoon at two o'clock, by Rev. C.M. Foust. Burial in Nelson. on May 18, 1939.3

Survivors include his wife Berneice; daughters, Mrs. Woodrow Stiles (Ardis) of Brighton, Colorado; Mrs. Archie Chinn (Wilma Jean) of Hudson, Colorado and Mrs. Richard Sandborn (Bonnie) of LaHabra, California; one sister, Mrs. Glen Skinner of Edgar, Nebraska; fourteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Mrs. Gene Nordbrock (Betty) on August 12, 1967, also his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Noah Adamson and a sister, Laura. He also leaves a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Saturday, May 1, 1971 at 2:00 p.m. in the Church of Christ at Angus, Nebraska. Rev. Victor Schwarz officiated. Casket bearers were Byron Kinnison, Warren Grossman, Kenneth Grossman, Garth Melvin, Gene Kinnison and Duane Skinner. Interment was in the Edgar Cemetery, Edgar, Nebraska. Arrangments were by Klawitter Funeral Home, Nelson, Nebraska. on May 6, 1971.4

Lola was baptized at the Angus Christian Church at an early age in the Blue River. In 1964 she transfered her membership to the Edgar Christian Church. Lola graduated from Nelson High School with the class of 1924 and went on and continued her education by attending the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. Upon finishing her education Lola taught school at various country schools in the Nuckolls County area. On May 30, 1930, Lola was united in marriage to Glen Skinner at Hastings, Nebraska. To this union one son was born. Lola and Glen made their home on different farms in the Edgar area until retirement, when they moved into Edgar. Lola was a member of the Edgar Christian Church, Christian Ladies Aid and the Edgar Woman's Club. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Glen on May 21, 1986; infant sister Laura; brother Vernie Adamson; two nieces and grandson Gary Skinner. Left to cherish her memory are a son, Duane and wife Emme of Edgar; three grandchildren, Gaila Claycamp of Edgar, Eddie Skinner of Edgar and Kim Harms of Glenvil; six great grandchildren; two nieces; other relatives and a host of friends.Funeral services were held Sunday at 2:00, July 3, 1988, at the Urbauer-Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Edgar. The Rev. Harold Fox was the officiant. Interment was held in the Edgar Cemetery. Urbauer-Williams Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. on July 14, 1988.2

Grossman, son of Watson and Melinda Grossman, was born Febr. 24, 1878, in Clay County, Nebraska. When a few weeks old he moved to Nuckolls County near Angus, with his parents where he grew to manhood and spent the greater part of his life at farming. On Jan. 18, 1900, he was united in marriage to Alpha N. Oldham at Nelson, Nebr. To this union four children were born. His wife preceded him in death on Febr. 8, 1937. He was united with the Oxbow Christian Church at the age of 19 and was a faithful active member as long as his health permitted. On Aug. 22, 1937, he was united in marriage to Inez Peters. In 1944 he retired from farming and moved to Edgar where he passed away after a lingering illness, on Febr. 19, 1954, at the age of 75 years, 11 months and 25 days. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, three sisters and two grandchildren. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Inez, two daughters, Mrs. Lena Bennett of Hastings, and Mrs. Beulah Bone of New York City, N.Y; two sons, Warren of Nelson and Kenneth of Edgar; six grandchildren, Larry Bennett, Jeanette, Sharon, Lynn, Leonard and LeAnn Grossman; one brother, Gus of Nelson; two stepsons, Ray and Lloyd Peters; and four step grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Monday, Feb. 22, at the Church of Christ in Angus with Loren Daly, Evanlegist (sic), officiating. Mrs. Merton McCartney, Mrs. Ivan King, Mrs. Archie Melvin and Mrs. Otha Skinner sang "Beyond the Sunset," "In The Upper Garden" and "Abide With Me." Flower bearers were Mrs. Earl Basey, Mrs. Garth Melvin and Mrs. Homer Melvin. Pallbearers were Neal Wehrman, Earl Basey, Herbert Peters, Homer Melvin, Harvey Countryman and Will Culbertson. on February 25, 1954.4

Memorial services were held on Thursday, May 20, 1976, at the Urbauer Funeral Home with Mr. Herbert Steen of the Church of Christ officiating. Mrs. Robert Mikkelsen was organist for Mrs. Wayne Moorhead as she sang, "How Beautiful Heaven Must Be" and "In the Garden". Pallbearers were Larry, Stephen and Thomas Bennett, Carl Schlacter of Hastings, Lynn Grossman of Overland Park, Kansas and Leonard Grossman of Edgar. Interment was in the Edgar Cemetery with the arrangements by the Urbauer Funeral Home of Edgar. on May 27, 1976.2

Preceding him in death were his parents; his first wife, Lois; and sisters, Lena Bennett and Beulah Bone. Survivors include his wife, Billie; two daughters, Jeanette Persinger of Hurricane, Utah, and Sharon Rouse of Tacoma, Washington; two step sons, Dick Jacobs of Portland, Maine, and Russell Jacobs Jr. of Hawaii; one step daughter, Sharon Bassett of Hastings; one brother, Kenneth of Nelson; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday, October 2, 1994, at 2:30 p.m. at the Christian Church in Edgar with the Rev. Charlie George officiating. Burial was in the Edgar Cemetery. on October 6, 1994.3

He was a past member of District #16 School Board and attended Nelson's Community United Church of Christ. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife Dorothy on January 9, 1992; an infant son, Richard James Grossman; two sisters, Beulah Bone and Lena Bennett; and one brother, Warren Grossman. Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Lynn Grossman and his wife Marjorie of Gravois Mills, Missouri, and Dwight Leonard Grossman and his wife Gayle of Seward, Nebraska; one daughter Dorothy LeAnn Lipker (Dwight's twin) and her husband Dorrel of Oak, Nebraska; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; nieces, nephews; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held Friday, June 20, 1997, at 2 p.m. at the Community United Church of Christ in Nelson, Nebraska, with Rev. Royce Buchtel officiating. Music was "How Great Thou Art" and "Because He Lives" with Alana Moorhead as soloist and Wayne Moorhead as organist. Pallbearers were Alex Brown, Arnold Brown, LeRoy Schott, Gordon Ruttman, Bud Whitmore and Frank Harris. Honorary pallbearers were Kenneth L. Grossman II, Dudley D. Grossman, Ralph B. Parker and Corey E. Lipker. Interment was in Edgar Cemetery, Edgar, Nebraska. Klawitter-Price Funeral Home of Nelson, Nebraska, was in charge of the arrangements. on June 26, 1997.5

The couple lived on a farm near Angus in Nuckolls County for 26 years. Here they reared their family and then they moved to Edgar in 1960. Lois took an active interest in Church and community affairs. She was a member of the Angus Church of Christ. She served as 2nd Vice President of Clay County Womens Club and was also a member of the Modern Matrons Club. Lois was ambitious and led a very active and busy life. Her days were filled with deeds of kindness for her family and friends. Her interests were books, gardening and homemaking. Besides her husband Warren, Lois leaves to mourn her departure, her daughters, Jeanette Persinger of St. George, Utah, and Sharon Rouse of Ft. Ord, California. Six grandchildren, David, Julene, and Michael Persinger and Deborah, Denise and Christine Rouse. One brother Jack, of Winston, Oregon. on March 1, 1973.2
