     Mary L. "Mina" Parks was buried at Custer County Cemetery, Miles City, Custer Co., Montana.1 She Mina Nolley, 92, of Anchorage formerly of Miles City died April 16, 2008, at the Anchorage Pioneers' Home in the arms of her oldest daughter and granddaughter. The daughter of homesteaders, Mary L. Mina Parks was born Christmas Day 1915 on the family ranch in Ekalaka, Mont. She married Edward Evians Nolley of Virginia on May 29, 1935, in Baker, Mont. Mina and her husband moved to Anchorage in 1948 from Vancouver, Wash. She worked for the Alaska Air Command on Elmendorf Air Force Base from 1956 until retiring in 1981. Mina was the accounting supervisor. She witnessed Alaska statehood and the 1964 earthquake. In earlier years, Mina was an active member of First Baptist Church. She served on many committees as well as church treasurer. Her greatest joy was volunteering in the nursery. Many Sundays she could be found rocking the babies and little one's to sleep. A devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt, she will be missed by all, her family wrote. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Hufford Parks and Charley Edgar Parks; brothers, Ray Dixon and Ralph Parks; sisters, Mae Dixon Cline and Beulah Parks Nolley; and daughters, Beulah Mae Nolley, Juanita Nolley and Donna Rae Nolley. Survivors are her daughters, Loretta Peters of Renton, Wash., and Lorraine Nolley of Anchorage; grandchildren, Jeffery Peters, Lori Peters and Paul Taylor, all of Washington state, and Trevor Taylor and Tammy Buben, both of Anchorage; seven great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews including Kenneth Nolley of Salem, Ore., Charles Nolley of Chicago, Carolyn Newell, Rita Andersen and Wilma Leidholt of Montana and Don Nolley of Minnesota. The family thanks her "family" at the Anchorage Pioneers' Home. "Their kind and gentle ways with Mina will never be forgotten nor the love shown by those who came in on their day off to say goodbye. Our appreciation also goes to Providence Hospice." Funeral services will held on be Saturday, May 3, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. A graveside service will follow at the Custer County Cemetery in Miles City. She will rest beside her three daughters.1 She was born on December 25, 1915 at Ekalaka, Carter Co., Montana.1 As of May 29, 1935,her married name was Nolley.1 She married Edward Evians/Evans "Ed" Nolley, son of Hammet Ervin Nolley and Allie Mae Sutphin, on May 29, 1935 at Baker, Fallon Co., Montana.1,2 Mary L. Palmer, age 91 of Riner, Va., passed away on Monday, December 28, 2020, at home in the loving care of her family. She was born on September 28, 1929, to the late William H. and Ida L. Underwood. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Palmer Sr; daughter, Shirley Lee Palmer; and brothers, Kenneth Underwood and William 'Billy' Underwood. Those left to mourn her passing are her daughters, Barbara Bibb (Henry), Phyllis Palmer, Charlotte Walton, Charlene Clark; sons, Charles E. Palmer Jr., Mark Palmer, and Jerry Palmer; brothers and sisters, Ray Underwood (Jo) of Ga., Melvin Underwood (Bertha) of AK, Freddie Underwood of N.C., Dana Underwood, Roger Underwood (Pat), Darlene Underwood (Carl), and Judy Underwood, all of Va; as well as 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be on Saturday, January 2, 2020, from 1 until 2 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. Funeral Services will begin at 2 p.m. in the Chapel, with Pastor Buford Linkous and Delores Caldwell officiating.
