Mills Jr., of Welch; three brothers, Lorenzo and Raymond Broomfield of Pembroke, and Court Broomfield of Huntington; two sisters, Lida Broomfield of Pembroke, and Mrs. Arnold Quesenberry of Pulaski, Va; and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 10 a.m. in the First Babtist Church of Welch, with burial in the family cemetery at Hoge Store, Va. on October 1, 1959.2

Born in Pembroke on November 17, 1919, he was a son of the late Harvey and Anna Poff Brumfield. Lorenzo was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WWII as a Sergeant in 13th Battalion Co. C. and was employed by the Celanese Celco Plant at Narrows for 35 years as a mason. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Martha Pfeiffer Brumfield; two sisters, Alma Mills and Louada Quesenberry; two brothers, Courtland Brumfield and Raymond Brumfield. He leaves to cherish his memory, two sons and daughters-in-law, Lorinza Brumfield, Jr. and Melissa S. Brumfield of Pembroke, Ronald Lee Brumfield and Violet H. Brumfield of Pembroke; five grandchildren, Dana B. Robertson, Nicole Lee Brumfield, Bendy Scott Brumfield, Lisa Tankersley, Lynette Lowe; eight great-grandchildren; a beloved sister, Lida Brumfield of Rich Creek. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. in the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with burial following in Sunrise Memory Gardens in Rich Creek. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that contributions be made to the Pembroke Volunteer Fire Dept., P.O.      Eugene Marion Brumfield was buried at Cook Cemetery, Pineville, Wyoming Co., West Virginia.3 He was born on January 18, 1945 at Wyoming Co., West Virginia.3,4 He died on June 9, 1957 at Huntington, Cabell Co., West Virginia, at age 12.3,4 He OCEANA — Eugene Brumfield, 12, Huntington, drowned in the Guandotte River at 2 p.m. Sunday. His body was recovered at 3 a.m. Tuesday. According to a funeral home attendant, the youth and a playmate "slipped off from home" and went swimming Sunday. Both were drowned in the river but the other child's body was recovered shortly after the drowning. The boy was born Jan. 18, 1945, in Wyoming County, a son of Courtland and Grace Mullens Brumfield. Survivors include his parents, four brothers, James, Marianna, Billy, Huntington, Porter and Lewis, both of Itmann; three sisters Mrs. Juanita Green, Rock View, and Shirley and Shelby, both at home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Baptist Church, Turkey Creek, by the Rev. Raymond Lusk. Burial will be made in the family cemetery at Wolf Pen. The body will remain at the Evans Funeral Home, Oceana, until the funeral hour. on June 12, 1957.4

Funeral services will be held on 11 a.m, Monday, July 5, 2010 at Fleischauer Funeral Home, 16 West Market St. Greenwood, Viewing will be one hour prior.
