She was the owner of a prominent needlework shop, the House of Embroidery, in Newport News and Norfolk for 12 years. She was a member of the Retired Officer's Wives Club, the Moose Club, the VFW, and the Submarine Veterans of WWII Wives Club. Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Cmdr. (Ret.) Frank B. Miller; her daughter, Shirley Wesbrooks; and her dear friend, Curtis Dozier. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Barnes, and her grandchildren, Barbara Denby, Kimberly Barnes, Robert B. Barnes, T. Allen Barnes, Mark Wesbrooks, and Lynn Sterling. She is also survived by her 14 great-grandchildren and her 2 great-great grandchildren. Her great granddaughter, Heather Cole, was her caregiver over the past year. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., on Sunday, December 9, at Epworth United Methodist Church. Interment will take place in Arlington at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warriors Foundation, Navy League/Warrior Foundation, 2115 Park Blvd., San Diego, CA 92101. Arrangements are by Weymouth Funeral Home. on December 2, 2012.3
