     Jacob Epperly/Eberle Jr. was buried at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, intersection of Rt. 693 and Rt. 615, Floyd Co., Virginia.1 He left a will at Floyd Co., Virginia; In the name of God Amen, I Jacob Epperly sen. of the County of Floyd and the State of Virginia feeling my body strength fast departing from me; and knowing that it is appointed unto man once to die, and being of sound deposing mind, do make and publish this my last will and Testament, as follows (to wit) First I direct and ____that ____pay burial and funeral shall first be paid out of my estate or effects. (secondly) I bequeath or give to my two sons George and Daniel Ten Dollars each. Thirdly I direct that all the balance of my estate or effects shall be equally divided between balance of my children (to wit) Betsy, Jacob D.C, John, Catharine, Philip, Sally, Polly, and Peggy It is exprefsly understood that, that portion which would go to Jacob if he were alive, is to be given to his children as they become of lawful age. Fourthly and lastly, I appoint my son Philip my lawful Executer, Given under my hand and seal this 9th day of April in the year of the Lord One thousand eight hundred and forty nine Marked and sealed by Jacob Epperly Signed and sealed in the Presence of Thomas Shelor David Sowers John D. And on the motion of Philip Epperly Executor therein named, who made oath thereto and together with Thomas Ge Shelor and Jobs Wells his security entered into and acknowledged a bond in the penalty of $500. Conditioned as the law directs, Certificate is granted him for obtaining a probat of said will in due form Teste J. Thomas Keen DeWitt

     Thomas Keen DeWitt was buried at Strickler Cemetery, Rt. 221 N. near Little River Bridge, Floyd Co., Virginia.1 He Thomas DeWitt belonged to Company B, 4th Virginia Reserve Battalion and later to the 3rd Virginia Regiment, Company B. His great grandfather, Jeremiah DeWitt, was soldier in the Revolution, and his grandfather, James DeWitt, was a soldier in the War of 1812. He was born and raised in the SE part of Franklin Co. near the Henry and Pittsylvania Co. line. Thomas was a well known farmer and Justice of the Peace. Floyd County book, Page 50. Enumerated in the household of his son Camuel in thhe 1930 Floyd Co. Virginia Census. He was born on December 31, 1846 at Franklin Co., Virginia.1 He married Sarah Rosabelle Strickler, daughter of Samuel Strickler and Nancy Ann Helms, on July 13, 1869 at Floyd Co., Virginia.2,1 Thomas Keen DeWitt died on January 31, 1940 at Floyd Co., Virginia, at age 93.1
