     Ward Poff Miles was born on December 18, 1913 at Roanoke, Virginia.8,7 He married Lillian Elizabeth Bostian on November 19, 1938 at Roanoke, Virginia.5 Ward Poff Miles died on August 12, 2010 at Florida at age 96.8,6 He MILES, Ward P., 96, of Brandon, died Aug. 12, 2010. He was born in Roanoke, VA and moved to Florida from Bluefield, WV in 1956. He was a retired educator, having taught in the Hillsborough County School System. Mr. Miles served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a musician and was a member of the Imperial Symphony for many years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Brandon. He was predeceased by a son, Fred Wilton and is survived by his wife of 72 years, Elizabeth; a son, Col. James W. Miles, USAF (Ret.) (Barbara); a daughter, Marsha Graves; and grandchildren, James, Tony, and Kevin Miles, Kimberly Moresco, Laurie Pearce; great-grandchild, Paige Pearce; sister-in-law, Dorothy Combs and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Monday, Aug. 16, 2010 at 11 am at the First United Methodist Church of Brandon. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a favorite charity. on August 14, 2010.6
