He was the oldest of 3 boys and six girls born in Athens Greece. And one of the last immigrants to come through Ellis Island. He never traveled back to his homeland. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his beloved wife of 32 years, Mary Lee Wray Liakos. John was the night manager at the Roanoke Weiner stand for 55 years. His customers will remember his favorite saying as they waited in line "Somebody's got to be next!" He was at work when he noticed Mary waiting on the Valley Metro Bus. They dated for seven years before they married. He is survived by his two daughters, Virginia Sink (Ralph), Laura Liakos; two grandsons, Bradley Liakos and Jeffrey Koch; sister-in-law, Shirley M. Hackney; a brother Frank Liakos; a sister, Athanasia Amaxas (Jim); brother-in-law Charles P. Wray (Shirley); numerous other family members and friends including Gus and Melissa Chacknes, and Tonia George. Frances was retired from the accounts payable department of Precision Fabric Group, with 26 years of service. Surviving are her husband, Thomas D. Hackney; her son, Timothy S. Hackney of Roanoke; her parents, George and Juanita Jones of Roanoke; her brothers, George D. Jones Jr. of Amherst, and Roy M. Jones and his wife, Donna of Roanoke; her sister, Vickie Lynn Jones of Roanoke; her grandmother, Mae D. Jones of Vinton; her father-in-law, Sidney A. Hackney and his wife, Vera of Roanoke; her sisters-in-law, Shirley M. Hackney, and Mary L. Liakos and her husband, Johnny, all of Roanoke; a brother-in-law, Charles P. Wray and his wife, Shirley of Troutville; two very special friends, Leslie and Joseph Sparks; also, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Vinton. on February 22, 1997.1

He was an honorary member of the club when he died Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Alfred J. Sandorff, Wayne, Pa; Miss Mary Sowder, Christiansburg; two sons, Valentine A. and Allen E. Having spent much of his youth around the water, sailing became one of his favorite activities. Most important of all, Jack loved his family and "extended family" very much. He was preceded in death by his wife, Polly Ann Eggleston. He is survived by his daughter, Jacqueline Eggleston Ferguson of Chesterfield; son, Dan Eggleston and his significant other, Heather Taylor; son-in-law, Mike Ferguson; and a large extended family. Interment will follow at Blandford Cemetery. on November 1, 2013.2

Viki Lynn Harman Viki Robertson passed away Friday, August 27, 2021. She was lovingly surrounded by close friends and family during her last days. Viki was born on June 4, 1947 in Christiansburg, Va. to Marie & Johnny Harman. She is survived by her sister, Gina Fletcher and brother, John (Darlene) Harman. She loved her nieces and nephews - Scott Fletcher (Katie), Lori Graves (Travis), Kristi Rhodes (Sydney) and Harry Harman. She also enjoyed their children, Jackson Graves and Maddie Fletcher. Viki was preceded in death by her son, Roby Robertson, her parents, her partner, Charlotte Fitzgerald and brother in law, Mark Fletcher. She attended RPI (now VCU) and majored in Art. She lived in Richmond with Ex husband, Whit Robertson while Rob was young. She and Rob moved to Washington DC and she went to work in the Printing business at Colortone Press as the Production Vice President. She enjoyed using her Art background and creative skills in the Printing business, and established a wide clientele in the DC area. After leaving Washington, Viki moved to Bayse, Va. with her partner, Charlotte Fitzgerald. They established 7 Springs Artisans for their Art business. They embraced life in the country and had many years of adventures with family & friends. They joined a group of partners to buy a campground in Williamsburg, Va. and restore the grounds to make a viable business. They enjoyed bluegrass festivals and the many people who stayed at the campground. Viki and Charlotte moved to Christiansburg & enjoyed traveling with Viki's mother. Favorite destinations included Las Vegas, Atlantic City and Key West. Viki moved to Frederick in 2014 and immediately fell in love with the community. She enjoyed walking around downtown, talking with shop owners. She volunteered for events held at Creekside and was active in many local organizations. She was very knowledgeable and enjoyed putting her skills to good use. She was an avid poker player and lit up from the sights and sounds of a casino. She started working at Dublin Roasters in 2016 and quickly found her place there. She took every opportunity to connect with the customers & staff and considered them great friends. She took pride in her work but always found time to help whenever she was needed. Dance parties were her favorite times...she was normally the last one off the floor. She loved working at Dublin and missed it greatly when the pandemic hit.6 She was born on June 4, 1947 at Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.1,2,6 As of April 29, 1967,her married name was Robertson.1 She married Velvin Whitmore Robertson on April 29, 1967 at Sparta, Alleghany Co., North Carolina.1,6 Viki Lynn Harman and Velvin Whitmore Robertson were divorced on February 21, 1974 at Arlington Co., Virginia.1 Viki Lynn Harman died on August 27, 2021 at Maryland at age 74.6
