He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Martha J. Terry, and the following children: Sam Terry, Pierce, Floyd, and Freeland Terry, all of Surveyor; Aaron Terry, of Pax; Dewey Terry, of Dameron; Mrs. Zed Cassell, of Surveyor; Mrs. M. D. McVey, of Glen White; Mrs. Jack McVey, of Pemberton, and Mrs. H. E. Griffith, of Arnett. A sister, Mrs. Matilda O’Neal, resides at Crab Orchard, and a brother, B. P. Terry, at Sophia. Burial following in the Trail family cemetery. on March 1, 1936.³

Death was attributed to a heart condition. Born July 1, 1860, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Sam Terry, of Floyd county, Virginia, Terry was a lifetime resident of Raleigh county. He had been actively engaged in farming until two years ago, and was a member of the Sophia Baptist church. Among those surviving are the following children: Mrs. Cora Willis, of Portsmouth, Virginia; Mrs. Pearl Gravely, of MacArthur; Mrs. Bettie Pittman, of Sophia; Gus Terry, of Affinity; and Lonnie Terry, of Kopperston; 38 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren also survive. Burial will follow in the Dunns cemetery at Sophia. on April 17, 1945.⁵

Grant Stevens conducted funeral services at the Crab Orchard church at 2 p.m. today for Mrs. Matilda J. O’Neal, 102 years old (she was actually 94), who died at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Frank Israel, of Crab Orchard, early yesterday morning following an illnss of one month. Burial was in the Mount Tabor cemetery. Mrs. O’Neal was born in Floyd county, Virginia, April 21, 1838, and came to Raleigh county at an early date. She was a daughter of Sam B. Terry and Lucinda Terry. Surviving are a brother, Ballard Terry, of Sophia, and the following grandchildren: Mrs. Myrtle Israel, Mrs. Bertha Clyburn, Eccles, Clifford O’Neal and Jasper O’Neal, both of Crab Orchard. Pallbearers were D. A. Riffe, Herbert Riffe, Don Gamble, W. F. Shrewsbury, H. T. Bowman and Howard O’Neal. on March 4, 1940.⁷

Terry, 85, died at his home near Nowlin's Mill, Monday night, from paralysis. He is survived by his wife and the following children: Mrs. Ellen Sigmon, Rocky Mount; Mrs. Pearl Brogan, Endicott, and Kanah Terry, Salem. Two sons and a daughter preceded her in death. on March 6, 1951.³

Martha Jane Underwood was buried at Trail Cemetery, Surveyor, Raleigh Co., West Virginia.^7,4 She was born on January 5, 1857 at Franklin Co., Virginia.⁶ She married Franklin Pierce "Frank" Terry, son of Samuel Ballard Terry and Lucinda DeWeese, on January 22, 1877 at Floyd Co., Virginia.^1,2,6 As of January 22, 1877,her married name was Terry. Martha Jane Underwood died on January 2, 1938 at Glen White, Raleigh Co., West Virginia, at age 80.^6,4 She Mrs. Martha Underwood Terry, whose funeral was conducted at 2 o’clock today in the Lester Baptist church, left 64 direct descendants - 16 of them great-grandchildren. Eight of her grandsons were the active pallbearers at the burial in the Trail cemetery at Surveyor: Edward McVey, Basil McVey, Junior Murray, Senior Murray, Woodrow Cassell, Zeda Cassell, Denver Terry, and Harold McVey. The honorary pallbearers were Dr. A. G. Bowles, Dr. George P. Daniel, Peter Clay, Henry Clay, W. A. Daniel, D. O. Covey, John Murdock, Tom Marshall, J. T. Daniel, Bailey Canaday, and N. D. Furey. The pallbearers were selected and all the funeral arrangements were made by Mrs. Terry before she died, Mrs. McVey said. Mrs. Terry died at 9:50 a.m. yesterday in the home of her daughter, Mrs. M. D. McVey, of Glen White, where she was critically ill a short while. Her husband, a farmer, died in 1930. She is survived by 10 sons and daughters: Floyd, Freeland, Pierce, and R. F. Terry and Mrs. Zeda Cassell, of Surveyor; Aaron Terry, Pax; Dewey Terry and Mrs. M. D. McVey, of Glen White; Mrs. A. J. McVey, of Pemberton; Mrs. H. E. Griffith, of Arnett. She also leaves 38 grandchildren. on January 3, 1938.⁴

He was born Sept. 7, 1909, in Vermilion, Utah. He graduated from high school at Klamath Falls, Ore., in 1927 and attended Oregon state University at Eugene. He was employed by the Pacific Fruit Express in Nampa, Idaho, in 1932. After several transfers he and his wife moved to North Platte in 1948 where he was a Foreman for the M & E department of the Pacific Fruit Express. He retired in 1974 after 42 years of service. He and his wife then moved to Arizona City, Ariz. While in North Platte, Mr. Poff was active and scouting and Little League Baseball. He was a member of the Elks, Moose and Eagles lodges and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was preceded in death by an infant son, David Lynn, eight brothers and two sisters. Survivors include his wife, Norma of Arizona City, Ariz; sons, Melbourne L. Jr. of Houston, Texas, Stan W. of Kearney, Gaylord, North Platte and Daniel H. of Nampa, Idaho; a daughter, Shirley L. Poff of Nampa, Idaho; two step-daughters, Savannah Baker of Brady and Shirley Krone of Yakima, Washington; a sister, Marie Draper of Salt Lake City, Utah; 26 grandchildren and a great grandchild.⁶ He was buried at North Platte Cemetery, North Platte, Lincoln Co., Nebraska.⁴ He married Norma Elaine Bunch.⁴ Melbourne Lee Poff Sr. was born on September 7, 1908 at Vermillion, Sevier Co., Utah; His gravestone, obituary, and the SSDI have a birth year of 1909 but his birth certificate has 1908.^4,5,8,6 He married Edna Mary Marks on April 11, 1936 at Ogden, Weber Co., Utah.³ Melbourne Lee Poff Sr. died on December 2, 1992 at Tucson, Pima Co., Arizona, at age 84.^4,6

Born in Bland Co. on August 1, 1938, she was a daughter of the late John Albert and Bessie Mae Worrell Bouldin. She was a beloved mother who "looked well to the needs of her household". She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Herman Elbert Stewart and Gray H. Brown Jr; her son, Herman Leon Stewart, Sr; her brothers, Cletis, Eugene, Ed, Junior and Robert Bouldin; her sisters, Margaret Agee, Josephine Clemons, Gladys Bouldin, and Sue Dax; and her best friend, Pat Lucas. She leaves to cherish her memory her sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Cindy Stewart of Narrows, Timmy and Jennifer Stewart of Narrows; her daughters and son-in-law, Bertie and Warren Clement of Logan, Ohio, Sharon Stewart of Peterstown, W.Va; her 17 grandchildren; her 26 great-grandchildren; her brother, Charles (Red) Bouldin of Narrows; her sisters, Bertha Martin of Narrows, Elizabeth Mullins of Narrows, and Lorraine Hayes of Blacksburg; and her beloved caregivers with Kanawah Hospice Care: Melissa Morgan, Patchila Carter, Angie Brammer, Tammy Cox, and Marsha Shepard. Burial will follow in the Bradley Cemetery at Lindside, W.Va. on June 17, 2014.³

He is survived by his parents, James Lewis Stewart and Donna Grimaldi Stewart, two brothers, David Paul Stewart and Steven Trent Stewart, his nephew Gregory Thomas Sanchez, his grandparents Ray Stewart and John and Kim Grimaldi, 7 uncles, 9 aunts, and 13 cousins. Jim graduated in 1994 from Onate High School in Las Cruces, NM. He was a member of the Alamagordo Desert Mountain 4 Wheel Drive Club. He also enjoyed fishing, throwing darts and traveling. Jim worked for the State of New Mexico Motor Transportation Division as a Motor Carrier Safety Specialist at the Hobbs Port of Entry. A memorial service will be conducted by Minister David Rorabaugh at the Christian Church, 1300 Hawaii, at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 23rd. Friends and family are welcome.² He was born on November 22, 1974 at St. Petersburg, Pinellas Co., Florida.^1,3,2 He died on May 17, 2002 at Denver, Denver Co., Colorado, at age 27; Died of leukemia.^3,2
