Peggy Ann Cleveland Peggy, 87 of Owosso went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday. A memorial service was held at Grace Bible Church in Owosso. Peggy was the daughter of Earl and Lucille Cleaveland. She married Frederic Nathan Boomer on December 23, 1945 in Imlay City and he preceded her in death on December 19, 2009. Peggy had been a bus driver for the Owosso Public Schools - caring for her student riders for 12 years. Following her husband's retirement, she and Frederic traveled for 11 years with the Mobile Missionary Assistance Program, traveling as far away as Alaska. As a member of Grace Bible Church, Peggy was involved in the church ministry for many years, with the AWANA youth group and Camp Michiwana. She also drove bus for Grace Bible Church and served the church in many other ways. Her passion in life was serving her Lord, her husband, and her family. A special thank you to Memorial Hospice for their compassionate care and the many friends offering their support. Those who cherish her memory include: children, Susan (Ron) Daley of Portland, Oregon, Sharon (Tom) Lehman of Middleville, Michigan, Sally (Ken) Sanden of Duvall, Washington, Jill (Kevin) McDonald of Lennon, Michigan, Tom (Vonnie) Boomer of Owosso; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sister, Mary Lou Truscott of Rochester Hills, Michigan; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Marianne Johnson, and a sister, Frances Modlin. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at White Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Will Lane officiating. On Nov. 12, 1934, in Burley, he married Zelma Jean Kimble of Pullman, Wash. They spent the next year in Idaho and then he served in the U.S. Navy Seabees during World War II. After the war, they moved to Seattle, Wash., where he became involved in the shoe business. In 1946 they moved to Idaho Falls until 1951 when they moved to Clarkston, Wash., and later to cities in Oregon. In 1958 they moved to Challis where he managed a dry goods store. They moved back to the Magic Valley in 1964 and he sold shoes for Van's Department Store for 22 years. He especially liked football and boxing and loved to fish and spent many vacations fishing in the Stanley Basin. In the last six years, he spent a great amount of time with his family who loved him dearly and will miss him. Surviving are one daughter, Sherri Mai of Filer; one brother, Roy Rutter of Eugene, Ore; and two granddaughters, JoAnna and Julie Mai of Filer. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two sisters, one brother and one infant son. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at White Mortuary in Twin Falls, with the Rev. Gary Benedix officiating. Cremation will follow at White Crematory. on April 5, 1991.3

Hill, 77, of Huntington, a member of LaFontaine Christian Church, died Sunday, March 21, 1999, at Huntington Memorial Hospital. The Wabash County native retired in 1976 from Marion VA Hospital after 29 years of civil service. Surviving are a brother, Bill J. Hill of Huntington; and several nieces and nephews. Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at Myers Funeral Home, Huntington, with calling from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. today. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Huntington County. on March 23, 1999.4

He began his teaching career in 1953 at Hartford Center High School in Adams County, where he taught business and English. In 1959, he was named principal of Jackson Township High School in Wells County. A 1946 graduate of LaFontaine High School, he earned his bachelor's degree in education in 1953 and his master's degree in 1959, both from Ball State University. He earned his superintendent's license in 1965 and his permanent supervisor's license in 1971. After retiring from education, he was co-owner of The Outfit, a clothing store in Warren, until 1990. He had also taught driver's education for many years. Mr. Hill was a long-time member of the Warren United Church of Christ, where he served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, youth leader and moderator. He had been a member of the College Park Church since 1992. He was a member of the Huntington Metro Kiwanis Club, a former member and past president of the Warren Kiwanis Club and a lieutenant governor for Kiwanis International. He served many years on the local boards of Crime Stoppers, Council on Aging and Literacy Council. He was born Aug. 10, 1928, in Wabash County to Harry and Myrtle Snyder Hill. He married Carol M. Amstutz on June 3, 1956, at the First Missionary Church in Berne. His wife survives. Additional survivors include two daughters, Joan (Jeff) Sherlock, of Huntington, and Ronda (Brian) Walter, of Mt. Juliet, TN; a son, Greg (Eleanor) Hill, of Levering, MI; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.7 He was buried at Gardens of Memory, 11201 South Marion Road 35, Huntington, Huntington Co., Indiana.4,5 He was born on August 10, 1928 at Liberty Township, Wabash Co., Indiana.3,4,8,6,7 He married Carol M.
