     Edward Stafford Tarbert was buried at Asbury Cemetery, 21 Craigtown Road, Port Deposit, Cecil Co., Maryland.2,3 He married Flora Belle Light, daughter of Joseph Owen Light and Sarah Amanda Hale.1,2 Edward Stafford Tarbert was born on February 17, 1901 at Woodlawn, Baltimore Co., Maryland.3 He died on July 12, 1942 at Elkton, Cecil Co., Maryland, at age 41.2 He Edward Stafford Tarbert died in Union Hospital, Elkton, at 4 o’clock Sunday afternoon, age thirty. He was stricken Tuesday night, the 7th with an acute attack of gall trouble and taken to the hospital Wednesday. The operation was Thursday afternoon. His father, the late Thomas Tarbert of Upper Cecil Co., died when he was 6 months old. Besides his wife, who was Mrs. Flora Owens his mother Mrs. J. T. Jennings of Port Deposit, a half brother George Tarbert of Blythedale, a brother Harry Tarbert of near Lancaster, a sister Mrs. Edna Wardell of Havre de Grace, a half-sister, Mrs. Jones of Centreville, Md., a stepdaughter, Miss Georgia Owens and her two brothers are his survivors. He was employed by the Tompkins Construction Co., as Master Mechanic. His home was in the Seventh District, near the Asbury Methodist church, where the services were held at two-thirty Wedneseday afternoon in charge of Rev. S. T. Hamblin. The interment was in that cemetery. on July 17, 1942.2

     Erma Fay Thomas One of the Lord’s most reverent and faithful followers, Erma Thomas Taylor of 153 Sunset Place, Danville, VA, was called to heaven on Sunday, August 7, 2022 after a brief battle with cancer. Born September 26, 1933, Erma was the daughter of the late William B. Thomas and the late Nona L. Thomas. She was married for 58 years to Ossie Lee Taylor, Jr., who passed away 10 years ago. Erma also had a brother, Emory M. Thomas, who preceded her in death. She is survived by one daughter, Bonnie Taylor Daly, and her husband, Jon, of Winston-Salem, and five grandchildren: Jon Michael Daly, Jr. and wife, Rachel, of Greensboro, Taylor D. Carruthers and husband, Drew, of Clemmons, Courtney D. Boon and husband, Read, of Cary, Huntington T. Daly and wife, Marissa, of Woodland Hills, CA, and Niland L. Daly and wife, Laura, of Winston-Salem. She was a beloved “Gigi” to seven great-granddaughters and five great-grandsons. Other special survivors include Janice Taylor, Jacquie Wyatt, Kenneth Stone and daughter, Kensley, and Keven Stone and wife, Crystal. Erma retired after 48 years of public work and was a loyal, life-long member of Faith Baptist Church. She was also an avid animal lover, having rescued several elderly dogs in recent years. She leaves behind Molly, her sweet canine companion.
