Graveside service to follow at Sunset Cemetery in Christiansburg, Virginia.

Mom was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, and caring sister who will always live in our hearts. She retired with over 40 years of service from Credit Marketing and Management Association and was a career member of CWI Credit Professionals. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Leonard Oakley Howard; and her parents, Millard and Ruby Poff. She is survived by her oldest son and caregiver, Larry Howard; her sons and daughters-in-laws, Kelly and Lisa Howard, and Tony and Ronda Howard; grandchildren, Tara Howard, Cris and Casey Howard, Michael Watson, Zack and Jessica Watson, and Amanda Watson; greatgrandchildren, Isaac and Caleb Howard, Briona and Michael Watson, and Matthew Kirby; brothers and sisters-in-law, Buddy and Shirley Poff, Carl and Odessa Poff, Junior and Frances Poff, and Roger and Emma Poff; sisters and brothers-in-law, Josephine Thomas, and Frances and James Sowers; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Media Hospice personnel for all their devotion and kindness to Gwen during her illness. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park, Franklin County. on May 12, 2010.

Mr. Elmore, who was formerly pastor of the Tazewell Christian Church, is now pastor of Central Christian Church of Phoenix. In his six years ministry in phoenix more than a thousand members have been added to the church and Central Church is now the largest of our religious belief in the state. Mr. Elmore says the Phoenix summers are hot (with a capital H) and therefore his church gives him a month's vacation. on August 28, 1936.

He received many awards, including three bronze stars. Harold was retired from Roanoke Iron and Bridge Works in Troutville as plant superintendent. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and all who knew him were touched by his kindness and generosity. He was preceded in death by his parents, Noah and Mildred Poff, and his wife, Irene Poff. He is survived by a son and daughter in law, Steve and Brenda Poff; daughter and son-in-law, Dianne and Al Galliher; his grandchildren, Edie (Ryan) Armstrong, Angie (Steve) Adams, Kevin (Ann) Galliher, Brian (Susan) Galliher;a step-granddaughter, Sabrina East; his great-grandchildren, Jake and Hunter Armstrong, Camryn Adams, Lindsey, Reid, and Josie Galliher; step-great-grandchildren, Lindsey Adams, Meagan Craft, Madison and Sterling Cupp; one sister, Florence King; one brother, Franklin D. (Barbara) Poff; also four nieces and one nephew. Entombment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with Military Rites by VFW Post #1264. on December 17, 2004.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Harold Poff; one son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Brenda Poff; a daughter and son-in-law, Dianne and Al Galliher; four grandchildren, Edie (Ryan) Armstrong, Angie (Steve) Adams, Kevin (Ann) Galliher, Brian (Susan) Galliher; one stepgranddaughter, Sabrina East; four great-grandchildren, Jake and Hunter Armstrong, Camryn Adams, Lindsey Galliher; also four stepgreat-grandchildren, Lindsey and Meagan Adams, Madison and Sterling Cupp. She is also survived by two sisters, Onie (Carlton) Maddox, Roanoke, Va., Gladys Bechtold, Covington, Indiana; one brother, James (Mary Lou) Milliron; and numerous nieces and nephews. Irene was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a retired floor supervisor from Halmode Apparel. After retirement, she volunteered her time at Lewis-Gale Medical Center. She dearly loved the volunteer work that she was able to do. Entombment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. on March 12, 2003.

Surviving is her husband of 44 years, Al Galliher; two sons, Kevin Galliher and wife, Ann, Brian Galliher and wife, Susan, all of Roanoke; five grandchildren, Lindsey, Reid, Josie, Madison, and Sterling; her brother, Steve Poff and wife, Brenda, of Roanoke. Funeral services will be held at Bethlehem United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. on December 25, 2012.
