She was devoted to and, loved by her family and retained her sharp, analytical mind in the face of increasing pain from cancer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Haden A. Wade and two sisters, Jimmie Angel Reagin and Edith Donnelly. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Lowell and Jeanette Wade; her daughter and son-in-law, Freda and Dale Teel; grand-children, Scott and Melodee Wade, Greg Wade, Sarah and Tony Harris, and David Teel; great-grandchildren, Meaghan and Haden Bryce Wade, Dustin and Paige Harris, all of Christiansburg. Also surviving are two sisters and a brother-in-law, Erma Floyd, Bonnie and Brand Whitlock of Bluefield, W.Va; a niece, Nancy Whitlock of Waynesboro, Va; and a special friend, Pattie Altizer of Christiansburg. The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday from the Main Street Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Peter duPlessis with interment in Sunset Cemetery. Friends may call anytime Thursday at the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
