Vest, 75, of Rock died at his home early Saturday following an apparent heart attack. He was a retired Norfolk and Western Railway machinist and a member of the Rock Baptist Church. Born May 12, 1903 at Rock, he was a son of the late Charles W. and Alma Poff Vest. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Bookie Vest of Rock; one son, James H. Vest of Elkhart, Ind; two daughters, Mrs. Earnestine Parker and Mrs. Janesse Belcher, both of Bluewell; two brothers, Elliott Vest of Bluefield and Howard Vest of Baltimore, Md; one sister, Mrs Aline Bramscome of Rock; nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren also survive. Interment will follow at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens. on October 8, 1978.8
