4 She Shirley Belle Wehrman Watmore was born March 12, 1923 in Nelson, Nebraska and passed away on January 8, 2015, in Thousand Oaks, California. She was the daughter of William Wehrman and Mabel Mearns Wehrman. She attended and graduated with the class of 1940 at Nelson High School where she met her future husband, Glenn Watmore. They celebrated their 60th anniversary in Cortez, Colorado, in March of 2003, among family and friends. Shirley enjoyed a career in real estate sales. Art was an important part of her life as well as membership in P.O.O., Beta Sigma Phi and the Methodist Church. Glen and Shirley spent most of their married life in Englewood, Co., moving later to Buena Vista, Dove Creek and Cortez, Colorado where they lived since 1980. Upon Glenn's death in 2005, Shirley moved to Newbury Park, California, to be near their son Greg and his family who live in Thousand Oaks, California. Shirley is survived by her son Greg, his wife Tracey, granddaughters Kristin and Lauren. In addition, Shirley leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends. The above was written in Shirley's own hand, and we would just like to add what Shirley was too humble to include. Shirley Belle served as a model of what a life well lived should look like. Her loving presence, positive outlook on life, and caring actions impacted all who knew her. Her indomitable spirit drew people to her. There are people in this world who give energy and those that take it. Shirley Belle was one of those remarkable people who gave energy and positivity (sic) to all who had the privilege to know her. on February 26, 2015.
