She is also survived by her sister, Doris Caldwell and a host of nieces and nephews. Libby was a member of North Roanoke Baptist Church. She loved Gaither music and blessed many with her talents of singing and playing the piano. She also had a passion for the elderly and spent many years working and caring for others. Most recently, you would find Libby with her smiling face at the gates of the Salem Red Sox. She was known for her wonderful home-cooked meals which were enjoyed by all who knew her. Libby will be forever loved and missed by her family and friends. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held Sunday, October 16, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Oakey's North Chapel, with the Rev. Dr. Darryl Crim officiating. Visitors will be received by the family an hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, Libby requested that donations be made to the Crohn's Foundation, 386 Park Avenue South, 17th Floor, New York, NY 10016 or to the Susan G. Komen Foundation , P. O. Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265-0309. on October 15, 2011.¹

Manning, Jr. and wife, Mina,(yes, Mina) Glenn J. Manning, Wilbert I. Manning and wife, Faye, all of Roanoke, Alton Manning and wife, Olivia of Graham, NC; her sisters-in-law, Almeda Bohon, Perdine Manning, both of Bent Mountain, Ada Holliday of Tennessee. A funeral service will be held at Copper Hill Church of the Brethren Thursday, April 18, 2002, 3 p.m. with the Rev. James Worline officiating. Interment in Restvale Cemetery. Lela "Bits" was a lifetime member of the Church of the Brethren. She retired from Richfield Retirement Community. She was a loving, caring and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother; she will be truly missed by all who knew her. Lela was preceded in death by her parents, Cabell and Dovie DeWeese. She was the widow of Albert Harvey Poff Sr.
She is survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Winston and Lois DeWeese, of N.C., and Houston and Jenny DeWeese, of Winchester; sons and their spouses, Albert Harvey Poff Jr. and wife, Ouida, of Pulaski, John A. Poff and wife, Sue, of Copper Hill, and Michael D. Poff, of Salem; daughters, Charlotte P. Austin, of Pilot and Shelby P. Davis and spouse, Richard Ferris, of Salem. Lela is also survived by nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to both the staff of 2-East at Richfield Recovery and Care Center led by Teresa, Paula, and Courtney as well as the staff of Good Samaritan Hospice for their unwavering support to the family during this difficult time. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 19, 2013 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem. And a funeral service to celebrate the life of Lela DeWeese Poff will then begin at 3 p.m. with Deacon Houston DeWeese officiating. Mommy will be laid to rest beside Daddy in the Rest Vale Cemetery, Copper Hill. on July 17, 2013.⁴

Elbert Louis Lawrence WATSON - A graveside service for Elbert Lawrence, 68, of Number Four Road, will be at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at Petries Corners Cemetery, with Rev. Titus Mast, pastor of Naumburg Mennonite Church officiating. Arrangements are with lseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville. He is survfved by two sisters, Ednal L. Samons and Judith L. Wells, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. He is predeceased by his parents; a brother, Roy L. Lawrence and a sister, Evelyn L. Lusk. Mr. Lawrence died on Saturday, September 19, 2009 at Lewis County General Hospital. Elbert was born in Virginia on April 11, 1941, a son of the late Clarence A. and Effie C. Lawrence. He worked for Smith-Corona in Groton, NY for many years. He had also worked as a nurse in Syracuse, NY for a time. He was active with the boy scouts and Oswegatchie Camp for several years. Elbert loved music, playing guitar, banjo, mandolin and dobro. Most recently, he played with the group "Sweet Harmony".⁶ His Social Security Number was 076-32-9312.⁷ He was buried at Petries Corners Cemetery, Petries Corners, Lewis Co., New York.^1,6 He was born on April 11, 1941 at Scipio, Cayuga Co., New York.^8,1,2,7,6 He died on September 19, 2009 at Lowville, Lewis Co., New York, at age 68.^1,7,6
