Roger Albon Holland Roger Albon Holland, 65, of Roanoke, passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 25, 2007. Roger was born in Floyd County on January 6, 1942, a son of the late Frank and Arrietta Muncy Holland. Roger married the love of his life, Rosetta Warfe on December 23, 1961. She preceded him in death on December 11, 2006 after 44 years of marriage. Roger was retired after 30 years from Blue Ridge Transfer where he worked as a warehouseman. Roger loved woodworking, fishing and working in his yard. Roger leaves to cherish his memory two loving daughters, Tammy Holland Smith and her husband Chad and Kathy Holland Moats and her fiancé Mark Philpott; a sister, Carol Hall and her husband Landon of Roanoke; three brothers, Gerald Holland and his wife JoAnn, Larry Holland, David Holland and his wife, Diane; half brothers, Doug and Don Holland; and sisters-in-law, Joyce Hackley and Claudine Shepherd. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Jonathan Smith, Christi, Beth and Kayla Moats. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 28, 2007 in Evergreen Burial Park officiated by the Rev. Sammy Caldwell. There will be no calling hours. Mrs. Holland leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband of 45 years, Roger Holland; two loving daughters, Kathy Moats of Vinton, Tammy Smith and her husband, Chad of Rocky Mount. Also surviving are two loving sisters, Claudine Shepherd and Joyce Hackley and her husband, Norman, both of Roanoke, a special sister-in-law, Carol Hall; four adoring grandchildren, Kayla, Beth, and Christi Moats, all of Vinton and Johnathan Smith of Rocky Mount and her favorite canine companion, Mindy. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at Evergreen Burial Park officiated by the Rev. Sammy Caldwell.
