Virgil Cook of Arnett officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Blair, who was born in Van Lear, Ky. has been employed in a carpet factory. In addition to his sister, he is survived by his wife, and one daughter, Jean of Detroit; a brother, Thomas of Beckley; two half-sisters, Mrs. Effie Scott of Jackson, Ohio, and Mrs. Lola Conley of Winchester, Ky; and his mother, Mrs. Lawrence Vailes of Chicago, Ill. on August 12, 1953.⁴

Mrs. Mitchell was born June 12, 1909 at Greenwood, Indiana, in Johnson County, the daughter of James and Amanda Hemphill. She was united in marriage on February 6, 1929 to James Mitchell. She was a member of the Salvation Army. Survivors besides the husband are two children, Clyde 14, and Bert, 12; two sisters Mrs. Goldie Parks of near this city, Mrs. Jadis Mitchell, also of Elwood; three brothers, Walter, Minerd and Daniel Hemphill, all of Elwood. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Salvation Army Citadel with Captain Ray Clifford and Rev. L. G. Wertz officiating. Burial will be made in the city cemetery. on August 4, 1938.¹
