She passed this legacy on to her children, a son, Jeff Jinnett, of Knoxville, Tenn; three daughters, Jaki Day, of Rome, Ga., Robin Porter, of Wilmington, N.C., and Jill Daniel, of Reidsville, N.C. She is also survived by her three sisters, Carol Beall, of Alabama, Janine Stone, of Virginia, and Randi Sutphin, of Florida; and one brother, David Sumner, of South Carolina; eight grandchildren, Austin and Schuyler Porter, Aimee Day and Shannon Himes, Jeremy Jinnett, Jessica Harrell, Joy Thomas and Caroline Daniel; and four great-grandchildren, Bethany and Lily Harrell, and Braden and Abrey Thomas. She deeply loved her family and was deeply loved by her family. on October 8, 2012.3

Survivors include: three sons, Eugene Wiley and his wife, Lyndall of Princeton, Joe Wiley and his wife, Genevieve of Ronceverte, and Charlie Wiley and his wife, Theresa of Covington, VA; four daughters, Edna May Burwell of Sinks Grove, Polly Plunkett and her husband, Freddy of Lake Worth, FL, Trixie Long and her husband, Sonny of Radford, VA and Rhonda Hylton and her husband, Claude of White Sulphur Springs; sister-in-law, Audrey Wiley of Covington, VA; two sisters, Irene Ashley of Blacksburg, VA and Sybil Pettrey of Princeton; 23 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Services were held Mar. 31, at the Broyles-McGuire Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton where the Rev. Deana Armstrong officiated. Burial followed in the Green Hill Cemetery, Union. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to Gideon International, Princeton Gideon Camp, c/o Gene Wiley, 23 Crestview Drive, Princeton, WV 24740.

Born Nov. 25, 1918 in Princeton, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Della Thompson Pardue. She was a retired schoolteacher for Mercer County Schools with 37 years service starting her teaching career in one-room schools. She was a member of Burke Memorial Baptist Church in Princeton, Choir Director and taught Sunday School for 50 years. From students, her church family, friends and family she was an inspiration and blessing to all who knew her. In addition to her parents, her husband, James Oliver Pettrey; three sisters, Lois Wiley, Marie Burnes, and Beulah Kilby; one brother, Owen Pardue; and one daughter-in-law, Bonnie Pettrey preceded her in death. Survivors include one son, James O. "Jim" Pettrey Jr. of Prichard; one daughter, Jerlene Harvey and husband Charles of Princeton with whom she made her home; five grandchildren, Larry Shepard and wife Pearline, Theresa Shepard, Marie Mathis all of Prichard, Lawton Shepard and wife Kelly and Susie Doss all of Fort Gay; 13 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one sister, Irene Ashley of Prices Fork, Va; special friend, Don Tennant of Princeton; and dog, Katie. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 10, 2006 at Burke Memorial Baptist Church in Princeton with the Rev. Jay Loucks and the Rev. Tom Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Park Cemetery in Princeton. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call at Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. today. on May 9, 2006.2
