Zula Elizabeth Lindsey1,2

F, b. December 21, 1918, d. August 6, 2011
Zula Elizabeth Lindsey Zula Lindsey Allen, 93, of Houston, Texas, died on Aug. 6, 2011. She was born Dec. 21, 1918. She was a graduate of Bearden High School. She was a long-time member of Berachah Bible Church of Houston. Three years ago, she put together the Lindsey genealogy so many could share this valuable information that she dedicated her self to doing. Zula leaves with us so many wonderful memories, things like, no one could out talk her and she told things as they were, like it or not. She always gave good, sound advice, for she lived it. She was not a quitter and tried to stay as independent as she could for as long as she could with laughter and smiles. If she only knew, she left more for us than we could ever give her. Knowing Zula, she has had time to visit her loved ones and friends since the sixth and is now sitting and talking to the Lord about "What needs changing here on earth." Zula was preceded in death by her husband, Ligon Allen of Houston, Texas; parents; Richard and Emma Lindsey of Bearden; brother, Wesley Lindsey. She is survived by her sons, Jim Ed Allen of Houston and Clint Allen and wife, Gaylene, of Abilene, Texas; granddaughter, Shannon Wood and husband, Mark, of Austin, Texas; brother, Lloyd Lindsey and wife, Ruby, of Texas; sisters, Velma Lee Lindsey Nutt and husband, Hallie, of Little Rock, Relda Bee Lindsey Lamb of Bearden, Jean Lindsey Parnell of Dallas, Texas and Dean Lindsey Green of Bearden. Memorial services were held today at Forest Park Funeral Home in Houston. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to, Jean Parnell, 3915 Boca Bay Drive, Dallas, TX 75244.2 She was buried at Forest Park Cemetery, Houston, Harris Co., Texas.2 She was born on December 21, 1918 at Ouachita Co., Arkansas.2 She married Ligon Bounell Allen, son of William Clint "Willie" Allen and Clara Maude Ligon, on June 25, 1939.1,2 As of June 25, 1939,her married name was Allen.
