Harvey is preceded in death by two brothers and Ilene is preceded in death by six siblings. Harvey was a retired optician serving the Michiana Area for many years. He was the optician for Marquette Mall, King Optical and Sears Optical retiring in 1990. He was a proud veteran and was a drill sergeant during World War II. He and his wife enjoyed bowling, and while his family was growing up he volunteered for the Boy Scouts. Ilene enjoyed bowling as well and was the anchor for her loving family. Ilene was involved in the Girl Scouts and helped set up Soni Springs Girl Scout Camp in Three Oaks, Michigan. on May 8, 2021.3

Miller was buried at Haughs Cemetery, Ladiesburg, Frederick Co., Maryland.2 Her married name was Wimmer.1 She was born on February 16, 1909 at Keymar, Carroll Co., Maryland.2,1 She died on August 18, 1995 at Westminster, Carroll Co., Maryland, at age 86.2,1 She Margaret Miller Wimmer, who helped start a housing project for senior citizens in Westminster, died Friday after an extended illness at the Westminster Nursing and Convalescent Center. Born in Keymar, she had lived in Carroll County all her 86 years. For most of her life, she was a member of the Westminster Church of the Brethren and its choir. Several years ago, she helped found Timber Ridge, a development for senior citizens. She and her late husband, Millard H. Wimmer, were the first to move into the development and for many years she served on its board of directors. Mrs. Wimmer also participated in, several charitable activities and volunteered on the Auxiliary Board of the Westminster Rescue Mission. "She was a caring person in so many ways," said the Rev. Scott L. Duffey, her pastor. "When she couldn't get around much, she still made treats for people, sent cards and called them. She liked to keep in touch in those ways." She is survived by a daughter, Janet Wimmer Sipe of York, Pa; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. on August 20, 1995.1

She was a lifetime member of Green Hill Church of the Brethren where she served with music and other various committees. She also sang with the Roanoke Valley Chorus for 13 years. She was retired from General Electric and was previously employed at Yale and Yowne and the American Viscose. She was predeceased by her parents, Edgar and Jemima Tate; brothers, Frank D. Tate, Printiss L. Tate, James N. Tate and Harold Tate; sisters, Elva Tate and Geneva Lawrence and husband, Milton Wimmer. Surviving family include brothers, John Tate and Edgar Tate, Jr. and a sister, Pauline T. Goode. She was a special aunt to many nieces and nephews. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. on January 1, 2006.2

Mr. Bland, who lived at Weyers Cave, had been ill six months and was a patient at the medical center 10 days. He owned and operated the Harrisonburg real estate company with his son, G. Christopher Bland of Bridgewater. Mr. Bland was born April 5, 1915, at Elk Creek and was a son of Sibbie Comer Bland of Durham, N.C., and the late Glen C. Bland. He lived in Roanoke from 1932 until 1972, when he moved to the Weyers Cave-Burketown area of Augusta County. He was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church at Weyers Cave and attended National Business College in Roanoke. He was past president of the Virginia Auctioneers Association and a member of the National Auctioneers Association. Mr. Bland also served during World War II with the Navy Seabees. Surviving, in addition to his wife, mother and son, are a daughter, Bonnie Jo Westervelt of Winchester; two brothers, Gerald H. Bland of Graham, Wash., and William M. Bland of Pittsboro, N.C; and three grandchildren. Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery at Weyers Cave. on November 2, 1982.5
