Robert Franklin "Bobby" Williams WILLIAMS, Robert Franklin, ("Bobby"), 56, of Newport, died Friday, June 3, 1994, near his home on Sinking Creek. Born in Newport, he was a son of Ira F. and "Hon" McCoy Williams of Mt. Lake Road near Newport. For many years he operated Lakeway Service Station near Newport and more recently was employed as an auctioneer with his own company, Williams & Son Auction Co. Bobby was a 1956 graduate of Newport High School, attended Bluefield State College, was a member of Sherry Memorial Christian Church, Newport Ruritan Club and Virginia Auctioneers Association. He was a brother of the late "Dody" Bonita Cupp. Surviving are his wife, Frances "Fran" Dowdy Williams; a son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Cindy Williams, Pearisburg; a daughter, Robin Williams and her fiance, E. Brian Atkins, Newport; his, parents; a grandson, Cody Atkins, Newport; a brother, Gerald "Nonnie" Williams of Newport; and a sister, Betty Lou Ratcliffe, Pearisburg. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, June 6, 1994 at 2 p.m. in the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel in Pembroke, with the Rev. James Lowe, the Rev. James Belcher, and the Rev. Roger Henderson officiating. Burial will be in the Williams Cemetery near Mt. Lake Road in Newport.
