A witness saw Todd T. Johnson Jr., 47, of Salem leap from the roughly 160-foot-high bridge along the Blue Ridge Parkway in Roanoke County near Vinton, said county police Lt. Chuck Mason. Police were notified about 1 p.m. Officers and rescue personnel pulled Johnson from the river. He was taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital and died later. on August 3, 2006.⁵ He Todd T. Johnson, Jr., 46, of Salem, passed away August 1, 2006. on August 5, 2006.¹
