     Roy Cecil Boggs was buried at Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston, Kanawha Co., West Virginia.1,6 He was born on April 13, 1898 at Looneyville, Roane Co., West Virginia.2,5 He married Rhoda Leona Paxton, daughter of Charles Abner Paxton and Bertha Corbin "Birdie" Procious, on June 5, 1920 at Clay Co., West Virginia.3,4,7 Roy Cecil Boggs died on July 8, 1950 at South Charleston, Kanawha Co., West Virginia, at age 52.1,4 He Flying Rim Kills Man Waiting Bus - Roy Cecil Boggs, 52, of 953 Walnut St., was killed at 4:50 p.m. yesterday when an iron tire rim from a passing truck struck him while he was waiting for a bus in South Charleston. He was the father of Neil Boggs, staff writer for The Gazette. Patrolman J. W. Fenimore and H. W. Summerfield of the South Charleston city police quoted witnesses that Mr. Boggs was standing at the east end of the overpass on U. S. Rt. 60 waiting for a bus when the left front tire blew out on a light truck going west on the highway. The tire rim from the truck flew across the road, struck the safety island, and hit Mr. Bogg's on the neck, the officers said. He was dead when brought to a South Charleston hospital. No arrest was made in connection with the accident, the officers added. The body is at Snodgrass Mortuary in South Charleston. Mr. Boggs had been principal of Piney Point Elementary School at Kanawha Two Mile for the past two years. For about 20 years he had taught in schools in Clay and Kanawha Counties. He attended Morris Harvey, Glenville State and West Virginia Tech colleges. During World War II he was the chief clerk at the Clay County Selective Service Board at Clay. Since the end of the spring school term, he had been working as a carpenter for a cousin, Anderson Boggs, a contractor at Bownemont. He was a member of the Emmanual Baptist Church in Charleston, the West Virginia Education Assoc. and the Masonic Lodge at Clay. Mr. Boggs was born in Looneyville, Roane County, the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Boggs, who now reside at Porter, Clay County. Also surviving are his wife, Rhoda Paxton Boggs, a daughter, Joyce, at home; two other sons, Clifford, with the U.S. Navy at Portsmouth, Va., and Warren of 908 1/2 Mell St; eight brothers, Clyde of Baltimore, Md., Alvah of Maysel, Glen of Jacksonville, Fla., Dennis of Silver Spring, Md., Ray of Falls Church, Va., Ira, Waitman and Cornelius, all of Porter, and Guy of Tyler Mountain; and a sister, Mrs. Ona Meadows of Akron, O. on July 9, 1950.4

He loved cooking and food, from gourmet to simple. He loved music; blues, classical, opera and supported the arts. He practiced and learned about health through his entire life. He loved the beauty of nature; the forests, mountains and waters of the world. He was intensely spiritual in the truest and humblest way and respected that quality in others. He served his family and country in an honorable and loving way. He will be missed and remembered by those he touched. Interment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery. on January 20, 2007.2

     Neil P. Boggs Neil Boggs former NBC Newsman, one-time moderator of television's "Meet The Press" with Edward Newman in the 1960's. Neil worked as a Press Officer during the Korean War. In 1960 he covered the Presidential Campaign, and interviewed then presidential candidate John F. Kennedy. Neil was political reporter in Washington D.C. for 19 years. He covered pivotal American history, from the civil rights struggle, to the nuclear testing in Nevada. He retired in 1985 to New Mexico, and taught journalism at UNM. He was living in Belen, NM when he passed away.5 He Neil P. Boggs, of Belen, NM, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at the age of 86. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Rhoda Boggs; his brothers, Warren and Clifford; and his sister, Joyce Chalmers. He is survived by his nieces, Karen Mings, Valerie Heikes Cary, and Kay Boggs-Mishler; and his nephews Brian Boggs, Robert Chalmers, and Stuart Boggs and their families. Per Neil's wishes, no funeral will be held, but a private scattering will be held on a private date by the Kent family.4 He was born on June 21, 1929 at Clay Co., West Virginia.1 He died on August 4, 2015 at Valencia Co., New Mexico, at age 86.4

Education was always very important to her and she continued her education by receiving her teaching degree from the former Framingham State College and earned two master's degrees in education from the University of South Carolina. A resident of South Carolina for the past 17 years, she had previously lived in Clay, West Virginia from 1974 to 1990. She recently returned to Massachusetts to be with her entire family as she faced illness with courage and bravery. For the past 17 years, Mrs. Boggs worked for the Chesterfield County School District in South Carolina where she was currently employed as a school administrator and vice principal of Pageland Elementary School. In earlier years while living in Attleboro, she was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church. An ardent gardener, Mrs. Boggs was well known in her neighborhood for her "green thumb" and the beautiful flower boxes that included her favorites - petunias and impatiens, among others. Besides her husband of 35 years and her mother, she leaves two daughters, Susan "Michelle" Frigon and her husband, Jason W. Frigon, of North Attleboro and Rachael M. Boggs and her companion of many years, Gary "Bruce" Douglas, of Mount Croghan, S.C; a brother, Richard Corbeil of Attleboro; a sister, Susan O'Neil and her husband, Michael O'Neil, of Foxboro; a granddaughter, Saoirse Frigon of North Attleboro; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, colleagues and present and past admiring students. Funeral services were held in Clay, West Virginia. Burial followed in Reed Cemetery, Clay, W.Va. on June 29, 2007.2
