A native of Floyd county, Virginia, she spent the greater part of her life in Mercer county. She had made her home with her daughter here for the past nine years. She was a member of the East Park Baptist church. The following children survive: Mrs. Martha Simmons and F. F. Light, both of Beckley; Mrs. Elizabeth Vest, and M. B. Light, both of Mabscott; E. J. Light, of Hinton; M. G. light, Marie, and three step-sons, H. G. and D. B. Light, both of Marie, and W. M. Light, of Hinton. Funeral services in charge of Foster Undertakers, were incomplete last night. on June 29, 1934.8

     Floyd Francis Light was buried at Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley, Raleigh Co., West Virginia.2,3 He was born on February 10, 1883 at Marie, Summers Co., West Virginia.1,2 He married Lydia Clementine "Lettie" Lowe on November 27, 1907 at Summers Co., West Virginia.8,9,10,3 Floyd Francis Light died on December 28, 1959 at Beckley, Raleigh Co., West Virginia, at age 76.8,2 He Funeral services for Floyd Francis Light, 76, of 408 Stanley St., will be conducted at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church by Dr. Alvin J. Cook assisted by the Rev. C. E. Walker. Light died at 3:45 Monday at his home after a two year illness. A retired engine carpenter for the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway, he worked at Hinton for 13 years before coming to Beckley in 1920. He was a member of the veteran C & O Employees Association and Modern Woodman Camp 15175 of Beckley. Born at Marie, on Feb 10, 1883, he served as a deacon of the First Baptist Church for 40 years, and was a deacon emeritus for the past four years. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lydia Light, of Beckley; four daughters, Mrs. Perry O'Dell, of Beckley, Mrs. Charles Bergendahl, Mount Hope, Mrs. James Rothwell, of Washington, D.C., and Mrs. Leonard Prater of Dayton, Ohio; one son, Elvyn, of Beckley; one brother, N. G. Light, of Alderson; one sister, Mrs. Arthur Vest of Mabscott, and seven grandchildren. Pallbearers include Paul Hinzman, W. T. Lowe, James Patton, R. S. Taylor, Lyle Christian, Earl Hall, A. L. Cole, and Philip Stover. The body will be taken from the Webb and Neal Funeral Home to the residence at 2 p.m. today. Burila will be in Sunset Memorial Park. on December 29, 1959.2

Walker on May 18, 1919 at Summers Co., West Virginia.8 Moses Bird/Byrd Light died on February 15, 1948 at Charleston, Kanawha Co., West Virginia, at age 69.5,3 He M. B. (Moses) Light, of Mabscott, Raleigh county, 70-year-old retired carpenter for the C&O railroad, died Sunday night at the home of a daughter, Mrs. C. H. Bush, 1523 1/2 Seventh Av., Charleston. He was a member of railway's carpenter force for 36 years until his retirement four years ago. He was a native of Floyd county, Virginia, and a member of the First Baptist church of Beckley. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Alice Light; a son, W. K. of the coast guard In Norfolk; two other daughters, Mrs. A. F. Horndoff of Charleston and Mrs. Curtis Weatherman of North Carolina; three brothers, two sisters, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The body is at Cunningham mortuary and funeral arrangements are incomplete. on February 16, 1948.3

A retired carpenter, he was member of the Glen Jean Union Church. Survivors include a son, Aubrey Light, of Huntington; three daughters, Mrs. Lottie Leich of Beckley, Mrs. Pearl Holcomb and Mrs. Grace Byset, both of Glen Jean; two sisters, Mrs. Okey Henderson of Parkersburg and Mrs. Rushia Yon of MacArthur; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. on July 31, 1961.8

Light died on August 20, 1958 at Beckley, Raleigh Co., West Virginia, at age 83.3,5 She Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Hughes, 83, of 221 Sixth St. will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the First Church of God by the Rev. C. E. Bays. Mrs. Hughes, a resident of Beckley for the past 18 years, died at 12:15 a.m. Wednesday in a local hospital after an extended illness. Her husband, Elijah Hughes, preceded her in death. She was a member of the First Church of God. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Kempson of San Diego, Calif., Mrs. Frances Wise of Marietta, Ohio, and Mrs. Betty Miller of Parkersburg; one son, Carl Hughes of Parkersburg; one brother, James Light of Glen Jean; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Yon of MacArthur and Mrs. Okey Henderson of Parkersburg; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The body is at the Webb and Neal Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. on August 21, 1958.5
