Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, December 27, 1990, at 1:00 p.m. at Oakey's North Chapel. Officiating will be Chaplain George B. Hamilton. Burial will follow at Old Dominion Memorial Gardens. Full military rites will be provided by the Fourth Highland Brigade of the Virginia State Defense Force. Friends may call at Oakey's North Chapel after 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. on December 26, 1990.1

He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends and was also a member of the Salem Penguin Club. Surviving are his sons and daughters-in-law, Buddy Fleming and Connie Lawrence, Salem, Guy Thomas and Rhonda Lawrence, Bedford; a daughter, Charlotte L. Bryant; grandchildren, Christie, Scottie, Trey, Taylor, Courtney and Joshua; and two great-granddaughters. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 15, 2001 at 2 p.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel in Salem with the Rev. Jeff Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Sherwood Burial Park. The family will receive friends on Monday at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Arrangements by John M. Oakey & Son Salem Funeral Home, 389-5441. on May 14, 2001.1
