Maxey and Jemimah Semones, on May 16, 1867 at Montgomery Co., Virginia.² As of May 16, 1867,her married name was Maxey. Virginia Adaline Conner died on May 6, 1876 at Virginia at age 31.⁶

     Alton B. Cox was buried at Restvale Cemetery, Rt. 221, Check, Floyd Co., Virginia.^2,5 He was born on June 20, 1932 at Floyd Co., Virginia; His gravestone has a birth date of Jun 21, 1932.^4,5 He married Thelma Faye Price, daughter of Herman Joseph Edmund Price and Nellie Ruth Muncy, on May 29, 1954 at Floyd Co., Virginia.³ Alton B. Cox and Thelma Faye Price were divorced on January 27, 1982 at Montgomery Co., Virginia.⁶ Alton B. Cox married Sylvia Virginia Aldridge, daughter of William J. Cox, 82, of Elliston, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 11, 2014.He was a Floyd County native moving from Montgomery County until he resided his final months at Skyline Nursing Home.He was predeceased by his wife, Blanch M. Alton is survived by his step- daughter, Arvenia "Beanie" Howard and her husband Marvin; his sister Joyce Quesenberry and her husband Billy; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends.      Laura Isabel Wilson was buried at Head of the River Cemetery (also known as Salem Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery), Rt. 221, Check, Floyd Co., Virginia.¹ She was born on May 12, 1879 at Floyd Co., Virginia.^1,2 She married Jeremiah Lee "Jerry" Hale, son of Francis Marion Hale Jr. and Letitia Martin, on November 12, 1914 at Floyd Co., Virginia.² As of November 12, 1914,her married name was Hale. Laura Isabel Wilson died on August 25, 1947 at age 68.¹

     Frank Wilson Hale Jr. was buried at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, 5737 Airport Road NW, Roanoke, Virginia.¹ He was born on November 7, 1935 at Floyd Co., Virginia.² He married Lillie Belle "Linda" Howard on October 3, 1954 at Floyd Co., Virginia.² Frank Wilson Hale Jr. died on August 8, 1993 at Virginia at age 57.¹ He HALE, Frank Wilson Jr., 57, of Roanoke, died Sunday, August 8, 1993. Surviving are his wife, Lillie B. Hale; three sons, Junior R. (Buddy) Hale, Ricky L. Hale, and Randy N. Hale, all of Roanoke; two grandchildren, April M. Hale and Adam R. Hale; his mother, Elsie Mae Aldridge Hale, Roanoke; four brothers, Jerry L. Hale, Gary L. Hale, and Eugene E. Hale, all of Roanoke, Harry P. Hale, Eagle Rock; three sisters, Shirley R. Bowles, Roanoke, Shelby A. Jordan, Fincastle, Linda F. Mitchell, Roanoke. A graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 11, at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with the Rev Carter L. Sloan officiating. Friends may call at Lotz Roanoke Chapel 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. on August 10, 1993.¹

     Shirley Rebecca Hale was buried at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, 5737 Airport Road NW, Roanoke, Virginia.³ She was born on July 8, 1942 at Floyd Co., Virginia.^3,4 She married Joe David "J.D." Bowles on May 23, 1959 at Floyd Co., Virginia.^1,8,3 As of May 23, 1959,her married name was Bowles. Shirley Rebecca Hale died on March 25, 2023 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 80.³ She Shirley Rebecca Hale Bowles, 80, of Roanoke, Va. passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 25, 2023. She was born on July 8, 1942, in Floyd County, Va., a daughter of the late Frank Wilson and Elsie Aldridge Hale. Shirley was also predeceased by her husband, Joe David "J.D." Bowles. Surviving are her daughter, Becky (Craig) Dalglish; her son, Ron (Karen) Bowles; grandsons, Dawson Bowles, Bryton Dalglish, and Seth Bowles; and stepgrandson, Brendan Dalglish. Shirley thrived at taking care of others and started at a young age as the oldest sister of 10 siblings. Family, friends, and neighbors liked to gather at her dining room table; drawn to her advice, resourcefulness and home cooked meals. She loved animals and especially felines. Her home address was well known in the homeless cat community. Her door was a gateway to food and a warm bed for homeless kitties. Motherhood seemed her "super-power" until Mama morphed into Granny. Her grandsons were her pride and joy. The "boys," along with great-nephew, Nicholas Jordan, filled her heart and home with love and laughter. Our Mama and Granny will be deeply missed. The core of our family, advisor and protector leaves us with a legacy of love and example of strength and tenacity. A private graveside service was previously held at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. on April 2, 2023.³

     William Wayne "Billy" Hale was buried at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, 5737 Airport Road NW, Roanoke, Virginia. He was born on November 19, 1946. He died in January, 1984 at age 37.

     Sarah Lynn Hale was buried at Head of the River Cemetery (also known as Salem Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery), Rt. 221, Check, Floyd Co., Virginia.⁵ She was born on November 15, 1947.⁵ She died on May 10, 1965 at age 17.⁵

     Richard Loran Hale was buried at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, 5737 Airport Road NW, Roanoke, Virginia.¹ He was born on May 25, 1949. He married Janet Flowers on November 25, 1967.¹ Richard Loran Hale died on April 5, 1992 at age 42.¹ He Richard Loran Hale, age 42, of Roanoke, passed away Sunday, April 5, 1992. He was an employee of Schwerman, Inc. Mr. Hale was predeceased by a son, Richard L. Hale, Jr; his father, Frank W. Hale; a sister, Sarah Lynn Hale and a brother, William Hale. Surviving are his wife, Janet Flowers Hale; his mother, Elsie Aldridge Hale, Roanoke; a stepdaughter and husband, Janice and Tommy Driscoll, Roanoke; five brothers, Harry Hale, Eagle Rock; Jerry Lee Hale, Eugene Edward Hale, Frank W. Hale, Jr; and Gary Loran Hale, all of Roanoke; three sisters, Shelby Ann Jordan, Daleville; Shirley Bowles and Linda Mitchell, both of Roanoke; two grandchildren, Crystal Nicole Driscoll and Richard Hale Parrish. Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon Wednesday, April 8, 1992 from the Lotz Vinton Chapel. The Rev. G. Wilson Gunn, Jr. will officiate. Interment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at Lotz Vinton Chapel. on April 7, 1992.¹

     Thomas Monroe Yeatts was buried at Jacksonville Burial Ground, Rt. 8, 0.25 miles south of Floyd, Floyd Co., Virginia.^5,1 He Thomas Yeatts was enlisted in Company H, 21st Virginia Infantry Regiment on April 20, 1864 by Captain Farmer. He was sixteen years of age at the time of his enlistment. On September 23, 1864 he was captured by General Sheridan's forces at Strasburg and sent as a prisoner of war to Harper's Ferry, West Virginia. He was transferred to Point Lookout, Maryland on September 30, 1864 arriving there on October 3, 1864. On October 16, 1864 he was released from prison on joining the United States Service.¹ He was born on November 3, 1847 at Pittsylvania Co., Virginia.¹ He married Mary Elizabeth Ingram, daughter of Elkanah Turner "Elkany" Ingram and Matilda Ann Willis, on January 14, 1875 at Floyd Co., Virginia.^4,1 Thomas Monroe Yeatts died on March 10, 1927 at Floyd Co., Virginia, at age 79.¹
