Prior to that, he was employed by Associated Transport of Roanoke. Since retiring, he enjoyed traveling for A-1 Messenger Service of Roanoke and Snyder RV of Salem. Besides the time he spent with his family, his greatest joy in life was in helping others. Many friends will be left to remember the many times that he came to their assistance. The three individuals that will cherish his help the most, however, are those that received a "gift of life" at his unexpected passing. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at Oakey's North Chapel with the Rev. Ben Peyton and the Rev. Al Frank officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg, at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Oakey's North Chapel. Arrangements by Oakey's North Chapel. on October 3, 2000.4

Lawrence, Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie and Vinnie Young, two brothers William and Walter Young and one sister, Mildred Howard, all from the Christiansburg area. She is survived by her loving children, one son, David Lawrence and wife Kathy of Roanoke; and daughter, Kimberly Lawrence of Nashville, Tennessee. She was also blessed with two loving grandchildren, Ashley and Jason Lawrence of Roanoke, as well as several nieces and nephews. She attended Eastgate Church of the Nazarene and had many life-long friends at Calvary Tabernacle Church. She was formerly employed at Carla's Hallmark and K-Mart in Salem. The family wishes to thank the many individuals that touched her life during her illness. Dr. Stephen Kennedy and the staff of Oncology and Hematology Associates, Dr. James Drougas, Susan Church, RN, the loving and caring staff of the Cancer Center, Third Floor Rehab Unit, Dr. Robert Heath and staff and the staff of Adventa Hospice. Box 554, Roanoke, Va. 24003 or the Roanoke Valley SPCA. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 15, 2003 at 11 a.m. from Oakey's North Chapel with the Rev. George Stevenson and the Rev. Al Frank officiating. Interment to follow in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg, Va. at 12:30 p.m. The family will receive friends Monday, April 14, 2003 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Oakey's North Chapel. 362-1237. on April 14, 2003.3

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Arrangements are being handled by Lotz Funeral Home, Salem. on February 13, 2003.1
